Please enjoy the free on-line lesson of Offered Attention and Focus; Attentive focus must be freely offered to us by our puppies. If we have to do anything to prompt, lure or cause it, then it’s not being freely offered. Attention and Focus is a foundation behaviour that we want to become second nature and not have to ask for. We cannot get our puppies to perform complex behaviours if we are always asking them to pay attention to us.

Worried about your dog and the Eclipse? The Sun is the same as ever if anything it may be of less intensity. Animals do not stare at the sun on any other day and have no reason to stare at the sun today. People however do tend to try and stare at the sun during an eclipse hence all the warnings.
There are secondary effects that may arise from a total eclipse. Animals "may" behave differently because of circadian rhythms, a drop in temperature, feeding into their owners emotions et cetera. While there is little to no danger to our pets it will be interesting to pay attention to see how they respond from an ethological viewpoint and to act accordingly if they become overly confused or stressed.

Got back up on the horse after my mother's passing and did a private training session with a lovely Border collie tonight. Watching how quickly the light bulb came on for him and how much he enjoyed the session was the highlight of my month.

Bishop had a spa day today so that he could go visit my mom at Nipissing Serenity Hospice. The smile on her face as she rested her hand on his head was the highlight of my day.

Thank you Sarah Baker For making him squeaky clean without coming home smelling like he spent the day at a French brothel. 😂

I received a lovely update from Peanut's owner with lots of pictures and video's. I promised her that she was a special puppy and would only go to a special home. I kept that promise but I do miss her terribly.
