Good luck, Kai!
When pets get adopted, we don’t say goodbye. We wish them good luck! 🥰 That’s because our biggest goal is to watch pets prance out with new families.
Every dog struts out of the shelter differently. 🐾 For Kai, one of the pups and dogs rescued from the wildfires in the Northwest Territories, her farewell included a nod to our staff and volunteers. 🐶 It felt as if she was saying thank you to our amazing animal loving community.
It will continue to take time for the pups and dogs to decompress. But we hope to say “good luck” to all the NWT dogs soon. 💙
Cheers to new beginnings! 🎉

Adoptable of the Day!
Name: Champ
Sex: Male, neutered
Age: 2 years
Conditions: Only pet home, children 16+
Meet Champ! This handsome guy has been wondering where his new family is! Champ loves meeting new people and would be happy to go home with you. As you can see, he loves his toys and although he's not the best at sharing, he'd be happy to play with his toys himself all day long.
Champ is a big boy at roughly 90 lbs! He doesn't always know his size and sometimes jumps, but he has been learning very well that he doesn't always need to hold onto your shoulders to give you a kiss!
Champ would have to be the only pet in his home as he hasn't been a fan of the dogs and cats at the shelter. He requires a home with older children due to still learning some manners and not being too keen with hands on his toys and food.
Interested in adopting? Stop by the shelter during our open hours to take him for a quick walk! For questions, please call us at 902-893-7968 Option 2 or email us at [email protected]

**Adoptable of the Day - Ms. Kitty**
Name: Ms. Kitty
Age: 7 years
Gender: Female, Spayed
Location: Colchester
Conditions: Weight loss diet
Hobbies: Being a princess and rolling in catnip
Hi my name is Ms. Kitty and I am looking for my forever home!
Are you an independent individual looking for an equally independent feline companion to hang out with? Ms. Kitty might just be the perfect fit! When first meeting new people she is curious but cautious, and it can take her a little while to become completely comfortable. Once she gets the lay of the land though, her personality really starts to shine! She loves pets, chin scratches, and being admired while she lays in the sun. Her pastimes include staring out the window and contemplating the meaning of life, snacking, playing with any and all catnip toys and walking the line between sweet and sassy.
She would love to be pampered by someone who respects her independence and boundaries, and would be willing to keep her as their only pet to ensure she feels safe and loved in her new home. Ms. Kitty prefers the company of adults and older quiet children, as they are more able to meet her where she is at. If you are ready to add a little sugar and spice to your life, come meet Ms. Kitty!
Ms. Kitty is available for adoption from the Colchester SPCA! For more information on adopting Ms. Kitty please contact us:
by phone at (902) 893-7968
