Nice bounce back day after what was probably the wettest day in my recent memory! It was insane here yesterday, but today is amazingly nice. The weather statistics showing it as 33 with a humidex of 35.

We've managed to keep the pups dry for the most part today, even when the skies have opened up. We do need the rain so it's not a bad thing at all!

If you’re driving by the Inn today and wondering why there is a lit Christmas tree on our veranda, no we aren’t getting an early start on Christmas in July. What we are doing though is showing our love and support for the Hughes family, who are holding a celebration of life ceremony for one of The Inn’s biggest fans and friends, Joan, who will always be Mrs. Hughes to us. She was a long-time client of Reta’s and always gifted us a Christmas tree from their lot every year for as long as she and I have been together. Always one of the first to like our daycare posts and support our causes, she and her late husband Ken always involved us in their functions, so we really were made to feel like family. We loved that she would make a mincemeat pie for Reta and a Cherry pie for me as a special Christmas gift each year, which in turn we would share with our friends over the holiday season. So, when you drive by our place today keep Mrs. Hughes and the Hughes family in your thoughts.

What a difference a day makes! It's currently 10 degrees cooler today than it was at this time yesterday, and it's still 27 degrees!!! The pups sure seem to enjoy being outside today as opposed to the previous 2 days. but as I tell our clients, the weather we just had are temperatures we pay money to travel to and lay around in so , no complaining!!

It's Yappy Hour Wednesday! What better way for you and your pup to cool off than a Fundy Scoops cone. As usual Yappy hour runs from 6:00 to 7:00 pm today!

We decided to get on the picture taking early today, before it gets too hot. We had most of the pups out by then but left those who were contented being inside just where they were. It's a nice 17 degrees inside right now and that will feel even nicer as the day progresses!

We've been getting some cancellations due to the Extreme Heat Warnings that are in effect for the next couple of days. No way are we expecting anyone to pay a late cancellation fee because you choose to keep your dog home during these times. Our number 1 goal is for all dogs to be as safe a possible during these warning periods. Having said that we'll be bringing all the dogs inside this afternoon where it's nice and cool. The fans are set up in the run as are the 2 pools. The hydrant will be in operation off and on as well.

Another unbelievably nice day! The breeze makes it quite pleasant, and the dogs aren't finding it too hot. At least it's not as humid as yesterday. Lots of playing. There's lots of pooling as well, but mainly, it's been lazing in the sun chewing on a Bullymake chew toy this afternoon.

Thank you to the kind lady who returned my wallet to the wait staff at the Truro Big Stop yesterday. It must have fallen out of my pocket when I got out of the car. I originally thought I had left it at home, only to return and tear the house apart looking for it. As a last resort I called the Big Stop and the clerk told me they had my wallet. What a relief!! The last thing I wanted to do was to replace my various cards and driver license.

Just a short video today as we didn't put the dogs out for pictures. It is now showing 34 degrees on our weather station and I feel that's too hot to make the dogs be out in for pictures. Maybe in August when they have gotten used to the heat, but no way will we do it this early in the year. Instead we have the air conditioning blasting and set to the lowest temperature it will go to and ice in their water bowl.

What a run of great weather we are having! The dogs sure are enjoying being outside most of the day. We have a lot of dogs here who just love baking in the sun so today is especially inviting for them. The pools were in full swing as well!

Not nearly as sunny as yesterday but it’s still pretty nice out today! The pups have been burning off a lot of energy and let’s hope we send them home to you for the weekend good and tired!
