I am a certified equine sports therapist in massage and vertebra realignment, canine massage, equine & animal acupuncture. I also supply Cupping Therapy & Red Light Therapy to both equine & canines. I absolutely love being able to do my part in assisting our equine & canine partners when it comes to getting them back to feeling their best. I start with assessing the animal to see what is the sourc

e of what is effecting them. From there I make my plan as to what is needed. Once the session is done I discuss with the client what is a recommended action plan to keep their animal in top shape. Outside of the therapy work I do a lot of riding of my own ranch horses. I do day work on ranches and start colts if I have some spare time. I also have and train my own livestock dogs and k9 search and rescue dogs. I feel privileged to be able to work with so many different horses and dogs and see a variety of different issues I am able to assist in and learn from. I am grateful for the endless lessons the horses and dogs have for us. For it makes us a better person at the end of the day. I continue to expand my knowledge and look forward to the never ending learning process taking more courses when the opportunities arise. Equine kinesiology taping is a physiotherapy treatment and has various applications. It can be applied between competitive elements of equine events to speed recovery and improve endurance. In recreational riding, it alleviates discomfort from acute and chronic injuries. Or can be used on a daily basis to treat muscle injuries, biomechanical and postural dysfunction and aid performance and recovery time. It is particularly valuable in rehabilitation of horses.

How it works:

* lifts the skin from the tissue below. This reduces the sensation of pain and stimulates the circulation – assisting in the reduction of any swelling and enhancing the blood flow to the injured muscle.

* the horse tape provides support and stability without restricting the range of motion.

* improves the proprioceptive feedback to the area, helping retrain the muscles to maintain the correct posture.

* can improve endurance as the increased circulation enhances the supply of oxygen to muscles and the removal of the lactic acid. It can also improve recovery time after intense training sessions or races, as the increased circulation assists in the removal of waste products.
