We are deeply saddened to report that a beautiful, female silver tabby was found deceased this morning on Corcan Road (~900 block). She does not have a collar, ID tattoo or microchip. Her coat is very healthy & she has the most unique, distinctive silver tabby markings. We know someone has to be missing this gorgeous girl. She will be held here at Lighthouse Veterinary for the next seven days. Please ring our office if you think you may know this special girl.

Noah was in yesterday to be fitted for his new pet wheelchair — spoiler alert: it was PERFECT for him! This beautiful, adjustable pet wheelchair was donated to us years ago & we’ve been saving it all this time for just the right doggie! We’re all so happy that the chair can aid Noah is his recovery! Watch Noah take his first few steps, supported by his new chair!

Gorgeous Georgia is celebrating her 2nd birthday today! 🥳 She also happens to be featured on our NEW dark chocolate Hardship Fund Bars!

The proceeds from these delicious chocolate treats go to support our Hardship Fund -- intended to supplement veterinary care costs to members of our community in times of finical hardship.

**ATTENTION OUTDOOR CAT OWNERS** a feral cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) in PARKSVILLE. We are heartbroken to report that this is the third FIV positive cat we have seen in the last four months. For this reason, we strongly encourage ALL of our clients with outdoor cats to please have their kitty/kitties tested for FIV & Feline Leukemia at least once a year.

FIV is a virus that causes AIDS in cats; however, there is a long asymptomatic period before AIDS occurs and our job is to prolong this asymptomatic period.

Do you know this handsome guy? Found at Qualicum First Nation Campground wearing very distinctive blue bow-tie. Other distinguishing featurings include half-tail & red moustache (see photos). Please ring our office if you recognize him or know who his family is. We will be holding this mystery man at the office until further notice.
