No breakfast!
Have you ever wondered why animals are not allowed to eat or drink before surgery?
It's because we want to reduce the risk of vomiting while under anesthesia. Your pet should eat dinner the night before so that there is still some food in the stomach to neutralize stomach acids, but eating or drinking in the morning can cause complications during surgery.
The Slow Blink
Dogs are fairly easy to communicate with, but what about cats?
A 2020 scientific study showed that cats will slow blink when they are calm and in a positive emotional state.
Slow blink at your cat when your cat is relaxed. Close, or partially close your eyes for more than half a second at a time. Repeat slowly and look to see if your cat is blinking back at you!
It's our 1st Anniversary!
A huge thank-you to everyone who has helped make this happen. From our amazing staff to our suppliers, cleaners and maintenance workers...and of course to our clients and owners of all of the special pets we helped this year.
We look forward to our second year 🙂

That's how many baby rabbits that 1 male and 1 female rabbit could potentially produce in seven years.
That's a pretty big family tree.

Meet Harley-Quinn
Harley just had her spay surgery. She's recovering well, and even though her cone is stylish, she's not too happy about it! Sorry Harley, that thing stays on for a few more days!
We stock cones and bodysuits to protect the surgical site post-operatively. No licking!

Happy Valentine's Day to all the humans out there!
The Vet Check
This is a crucial step for your animal. Our veterinarians check the overall health of every animal prior to doing surgery. We will never perform surgery on an animal who is sick.
If your pet's surgery gets cancelled, we are more than happy to reschedule the surgery and send your regular veterinarian our findings.
Spay and neuter surgeries are available for cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. Call either of our 2 locations to book an appointment.

Is your cat a wanderer?
Intact male cats have much larger territories and wander over greater distances than neutered male cats. Research shows that neutering helps reduce roaming in most cats.
Keeping your cat from wandering can help keep them safe from traffic and other animals.
Spay and neuter surgeries are available for cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. Call either of our 2 locations to book an appointment.

The dogs all had a party
They came from near and far,
Some dogs came by taxi
And some dogs came by car.
Each dog signed his name
Upon a special book,
And each dog hung his tail
Upon a special hook.
One dog was not invited
And this aroused his ire,
He stormed into the party
And loudly shouted "FIRE!"
In the scene that followed
The dogs forgot to look,
And grabbed just any tail
From off of any hook!
So that is the real reason
Whenever they meet or roam,
They sniff each other's tails
To try and find their own!

Holiday time is here!
Our clinic will be closed from December 20 - January 3. This gives our hard-working staff a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends, and gives our clinic manager time to restock after an incredibly busy first two months!
Thanks everyone for a great year and we wish you all a healthy and happy holiday season!
