Our students and friends may have noticed a new presence in our pastures... we'd like to welcome Ally! A 2 year old Standardbred filly, Ally will be staying with us for a month or two to decompress from her intense racehorse training. We're also working on her ground manners so she'll be a pleasure to handle and can go on to live her best life on the track. She's very sweet, but also quite feisty! And those legs go on forever!

Bella had a schooling session this morning (just to do a little refresher of her jump training). She can be pretty slow going sometimes with students learning to walk and steer, but as you can see, she just flies over jumps!

If you're hot, they're hotter. We may not be able to bring them inside, but we are trying to keep the horses as cool as possible, therefore if you have a lesson scheduled during a heat wave, check ahead of time to make sure it is still on!

Bundle up and get on those horses! If the footing is good, a ride is a ride and there are always things to work on! At Écuries Aster Stables, we ride year round to keep our horses and ourselves fit and moving. If you're a parent and not sure how to dress your kids for lessons, don't hesitate to ask us for advice! We have perfected the winter riding outfit through years of trial and error! Happy trails!

The cold weather is just beginning! Forget fashion, make sure you or your kid is dressed warmly for riding lessons so they aren't miserable! Ask your coach for advice if you're not sure what's appropriate.

We had a great day at the Écuries de la Cadence Stables schooling show yesterday! Bella impressed the judge and won first place in both of her cross-rails classes, second in the under saddle class, and 4th in 2'3" jumpers, ridden by owner and trainer Isabelle. Bella then went on to earn two more red ribbons for rider Mataya Collicott, one of our most dedicated students! Mataya is in her second year of lessons at Écuries Aster Stables and this was her first ever show - she performed impeccably in Command and Pleasure classes and we're very proud of how far she has come! We could not be happier with our Little Miss Sassy Pants, aka, Bella, our little green pony!
