Finns Happy Place We are new foster parents to our first dog from Bandaged Paws. We also do our best to train them basic manners through positive reinforcement lessons.

Our goal is to help dogs find their forever homes by showing them what a loving, caring home is like.

Billie has found a home!
She has been adopted by a wonderful family.
Her forever home includes her new bestie, a 2 year old Norwegian Elkhound who also has only one eye! I’m sure she will learn a lot about navigating the world as a one eyed dog from this new friend.

We are happy to say that Billie has a meet and greet today with a potential new home! Wish her luck!

We have been told that little Billie is ready for adoption!
As applications are only accepted for animals after the animals bio is posted on the website check to see if she’s there before applying. It should be posted in the next few days. So check often!

It should be noted that in the time we have had her she has shown signs of separation anxiety. We have been working with her on this but it can take weeks or even months to work through this.
If you are thinking of adopting this little one please make sure you have the time and resources to help her through her issue.

She remains a very loving and smart girl who deserves the best chance at a great life. If you can give this to her please apply for adoption.

This is Miss Billie Eyeless!
Some of you may have seen the posts from Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association about her difficult start. She came into our foster home to finish healing up from her eye surgery before she is ready to be adopted.
There has been a lot of interest from people who want to know how she is.

She is doing amazingly well! She is a very happy, playful, loving puppy. She loves meeting new people and has been healing well.
This tough little survivor will make a great addition to some lucky families home.

I believe she already has a few applications for adoption but if you would like you can check the webpage www.bandagedpaws.org
for more information.

Meet the lovely Veya!

She is Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association longest resident. Veya is nearly 4 years old. She has been with us about 4 months and is improving everyday.
This sweet young lady is really easy to care for. She is good at just going along with whatever is happening. She’s happy to go out and play and she’s also happy to rest and chill out when it’s time.
Veya has a fun, quirky personality that makes us laugh regularly.

Veya loves going for walks but REALLY LOVES bike rides. She flat out runs for the first 15 min or so of our rides, sometimes I can't go fast enough! As soon as we bring her leash out she is dancing around and excited to get going. She is a great walking and biking partner and has learned in the short time we’ve had her to walk right beside me with very little pulling.

When she first came to us she had some reaction issues we have been working on her with and she has shown A LOT of improvement.
The first day we had her when my husband came home from work Veya barked and growled at him, it looked quite scary! She also hated when he would give me hugs or get too close to me. We used variations of Cesar Millans no talk, no touch, no eye contact rule
(and a lot of treats) to help her get used to him coming home. We also came up with "training sessions" involving hugs while he gave her treats to get her used to him being near me and saw improvement within a week! Soon she was excited to see him come up to the door and no longer cares if I get hugs, as long as she gets one after!
Now my husband is her best friend and she often climbs up on him and nuzzles into his neck.

She also shows this same behavior with some (but strangely not all) our friends and family when they come into our home but with this same technique she is easily won over.

All that said, we recently had Veya at an adoption event at The Ink Spot Tattoo Studio and she loved it. She was incredibly friendly to the many people and dogs there. She seems to only have issues in her territory.

She has shown some reactive behaviour towards other cats and we don't recommend she be homed with them. She doesnt show much interest in the birds or bunnies around our neighborhood though.
She does seem to get along well with dogs in general. We had her meet up with a friends dog and they are now besties and her friend comes for sleepovers whenever her parents go out of town.
Veya does have food and possible environmental allergies. Due to this she is prone to ear infections and yeast infections in her paws. Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association has done a great job getting this under control. She is on hypoallergenic food and some medication and has been symptom free for months!

We have kennel trained Veya and she sleeps in hers every night. We leave it open all day and she is happy to go in and spend most of her relaxing time there.

She requires a home with patient loving people who are all willing to learn and do what is needed to help her in her new environment and have the consistency and patience to see it through as it takes time. She also needs to keep her allergies under control.

Overall she is a smart loyal girl who if given guidance, good leadership, love and patience will be an amazing friend.

Franny is doing amazingly well with her crate training. This is the first time we have left the house with her in her crate. We set up a nest cam to watch her. She did whine for a minute or so. But settled right in and looks relaxed and comfortable. She’s not showing much in the way of separation anxiety.
