🐾 Meet Oakley! 🐾
(also known as Okie or Oakley Dokley!)
Oakley is an affectionate, loyal, playful young boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He LOVES people, thrives on attention, and will follow you around like a little shadow. Once he bonds with you, he becomes the sweetest cuddle buddy and loves curling up in bed beside his humans.
He’s energetic, fun, and always ready for play, especially if you bring out his favourite ball. He’ll even toss it around himself when he’s excited!
🩺 Health:
When Oakley arrived into care, he had a shattered pelvis that had already begun healing. Vets determined it was best not to re-break it. Because of this, he may limp if he overdoes it, so his new family must help him avoid over-exercising, even if he wants to keep going.
What Oakley Needs in His Forever Home:
💙 Companionship – Oakley has separation anxiety and needs someone home most of the time. He may bark, whine, or take time to settle when left alone.
💙 The Only Prince – He can be jealous and attention-seeking, so he’ll thrive as the only dog in the home.
💙 Children – May do well with respectful children 10+ with supervision and slow introductions.
💙 Activity Level – Moderate/high energy. He enjoys walks and structured play, but activity should be monitored due to his pelvis history.
💙 Housing – Not suited for apartment living. He is vocal, easily startled by noise, and has had accidents in hallways when anxious.
💙 Training – Smart and food-motivated. Knows sit, stay, and come. Needs continued leash work and alone-time training.
