Marshall is a sweet, gentle little guy with a tender heart and a sensitive soul. He’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply, loves quietly, and needs time to feel safe. Once he trusts you, he becomes incredibly affectionate; asking for belly rubs, leaning in for love, and staying close to his person.

What Marshall Needs in a Forever Home

💛 Quiet, low-traffic environment – New situations and people can be overwhelming for him. Calm and predictable is best.
💛Another small, friendly dog – This is essential!! Marshall takes comfort and confidence from other dogs and relies on them to feel secure.
💛 Fenced yard required – Marshall is terrified of walking on leash and does not enjoy walks. A safe, enclosed yard is a must.
💛 Cat friendly – He peacefully ignores the foster’s cats and would do well with respectful feline companions.
💛 Adult-only or older, calm kids – He has not been tested with young children and needs gentle, respectful interactions.
💛 Patient, understanding adopters – Marshall will need a couple of weeks to decompress. He may be sad at first and will cry during the adjustment period.

Lobo is a sweet, silly, intelligent little guy with a tender heart and a playful streak once he feels safe. He is sensitive by nature and bonds deeply to his person, becoming a devoted little shadow. While he may be shy or nervous at first (especially with men or unfamiliar people) time, patience, and gentle confidence allow him to truly shine. When he opens up, he is affectionate, snuggly, and full of charm.

Lobo did not receive a suitable match the first time around, so we’re sharing his bio again in hopes of finding the right home, one that understands his needs and is willing to move at his pace.

What Lobo Needs in a Forever Home

💛 Calm, patient household – Lobo needs time to settle and will not thrive in a busy or chaotic environment.
💛 Someone home often – He becomes anxious when left completely alone. Full workdays without companionship are not suitable for him.
💛 Another friendly, small dog (required) – This is essential. Lobo gains confidence from canine companions and relies on them for emotional support.
💛 Slow, respectful introductions – Especially with men; he may growl or retreat until he feels safe.
💛 Older, respectful children only – He enjoys kids but can mouth when overexcited.
💛 Breed-savvy adopters – Familiarity with Dachshunds and their sensitivities is strongly preferred.
💛 Not apartment-friendly – Lobo is vocal during play and excitement.

Lobo is eager to please, intelligent, and learns quickly in the right environment. With structure, patience, and reassurance, he will blossom into a deeply loyal and loving companion.

We Hate Having to Write This… But We Need Help. 💔

Right now, our vetting expenses have grown beyond what we can manage, and we urgently need to raise $6,411.72 just to pay off our current vet bill. Until we can get this bill paid down, we will be forced to close to new intakes.

That means dogs in need will have to wait… and that breaks our hearts.

December was especially hard. We had three dogs who needed surgery, and another sweet girl who was critically ill and required extensive testing before we could even get answers. We would do it all again for them, because they needed us, but the cost has caught up with us.

We don’t turn dogs away lightly. We don’t say “no” unless we absolutely have to. But right now, we can’t help more dogs unless this bill comes down.

Welcome into care, Gus & Elliott! 🐾

We’re excited to welcome Gus and Elliott, two 7-month-old Pug–Terrier cross brothers, into our care💛

These sweet boys will be heading to their foster home where they’ll be assessed and given time to settle in.

Over the next few weeks, they’ll be seen by a vet, and we’ll be getting to know their personalities so we can find them the best possible homes.

Update on Lobo & Marshall 💛

After carefully reviewing the applications received, we did not find a home that was the right fit for what Lobo and Marshall need to thrive long-term.

Choosing the best match for each dog is something we take very seriously, and our decisions are always based on their individual needs and well-being.

Both Lobo and Marshall will be reposted and will remain posted until their perfect match is found.

Thank you to all who applied and supported them. While your application wasn’t a match for their specific needs, we’re grateful for your interest and encourage you to keep an eye on our page for other dogs who may be a better fit for your home.

Rocco is still waiting for a family to call his own.

This boy is a fun, loving, energetic pup who wants nothing more than to be someone’s loyal companion. He loves walks, hikes, exploring new scents, and playing with squeaky toys. After a day of adventure, he turns into a total snugglebug who enjoys curling up close to his people.

Rocco is silly, sensitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted once he bonds with you, he just wants to be loved and included.

⭐ Important: Rocco has separation anxiety and needs a home where someone is around most of the time.

Ace is a loving, playful, cuddly senior gentleman who is ready to trade in the busy life for a calm, cozy retirement filled with brushing, cuddles, and quiet companionship. He has a gentle soul, a polite nature, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Especially food, affection, and his favourite squeaky toys.

Ace is well-mannered, mostly house-trained, and knows his basics. He may benefit from learning a solid “leave it,” but overall he’s a respectful, easygoing boy who settles nicely into routine.

Here’s what Ace is looking for in his forever home:

🧡 Calm, quiet environment – Ace truly deserves a peaceful place to relax and be doted on in his golden years.
🧡 Only dog preferred – He isn’t a fan of larger dogs and does best as the sole pet, though he can tolerate smaller dogs.
