Today is the day for happy news.

Gunner has completed his three week trial period and has been offically adopted.

It didn’t take his family long to realize that Gunner was the perfect fit for their family.
His quirky ways and the love he offered was just what they were looking for. They knew the day they picked him up, that he was a keeper. One look into his eyes revealed how special he is. He turned on the charm and wrapped them around his adorable little paws.

Congratulations Gunner, Charlene and Eddie.

We are going to allow him time to decompress and then he will be going back up for adoption in the New Year.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤!

We are excited to announce that Maverick is now ready to find his forever home, and we are accepting adoption applications for this sweet boy. Maverick is a 2-year-old Boston Terrier mix who has made incredible strides since arriving into our care.

When Maverick first came to us, he struggled with some challenging behaviors and was very reactive to other dogs. He couldn’t even be in the same space as another dog without feeling overwhelmed. Thanks to the patience, love, and dedication of his amazing foster family, Maverick has worked through his fears and learned the coping skills he needs to be a happy, well-adjusted dog.

Maverick’s foster family has invested so much time into helping him build trust and confidence, and he’s now a playful, loving boy who craves human companionship. He loves nothing more than cuddling up with his people and showering them with kisses. He has so much love to give, and he just wants to make his humans proud.

Maverick has worked hard to overcome his challenges and is ready to find a family who will appreciate his journey and continue to help him thrive. He is looking for a home where he can be the only pet, as he prefers the peace and quiet of being the center of attention. He would thrive in an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures—he loves to go jogging and can easily keep up with a long run or hike. He also has a soft spot for toys and would love a home where he can have plenty to play with. And, of course, he would be thrilled to snuggle with you in bed at night!

Wee Ones is currently accepting adoption applications for two incredibly sweet and loving girls: Tiny Girl and Charlee. These precious souls are a bonded pair, and we are committed to keeping them together. They are inseparable and find comfort in each other's presence.

𝑻𝒊𝒏𝒚 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍 is a 5-year-old Dachshund-Chihuahua mix, and
𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒆 is a 5-year-old purebred Dachshund.

Both girls have hearts full of love to give, and they are looking for a family to share that love with. Could you be the one to offer them the warm, safe home they deserve?

𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦
Tiny Girl and Charlee are both wonderful with other dogs and enjoy playing and sharing toys. True to their Dachshund nature, they’re food motivated, love belly rubs, and can't get enough of head scratches. They thrive on companionship and affection, and they are eager to cuddle up with you after a long day.

They are up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and on monthly flea/tick/dewormer preventatives. Both girls have been cleared for adoption by their vet and are in excellent health.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞
Tiny Girl and Charlee are best suited to a home where someone is around often. While they are fine with dog-savvy children, they would be happiest in a quieter environment without small children running around. They do have a little bit of separation anxiety, but with time and patience, we’re confident that they will adjust beautifully to their forever home.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲
Tiny Girl and Charlee’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. They were originally adopted from a Dachshund rescue in Texas, but sadly, they were returned when their dad entered hospice care. This loss broke their hearts, and they have now made their way to Canada, where they’ve begun to rebuild their trust and joy in life.

We’re hoping to find them the perfect family to call their own—one that will offer them the love, care, and security they so deeply deserve.

This is Buddy—a 4.5-month-old Beagle puppy who is bursting with energy, love, and puppy kisses! From the moment you meet him, you’ll be captivated by his joyful spirit and eagerness to make new friends. His heart is as big as his puppy paws, and he’s ready to share it all with the perfect family.

Buddy is everything you would expect from a puppy—playful, affectionate, and full of life. He’s constantly wagging his tail, looking for new adventures, and is always excited to meet new people. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or playing fetch in the yard, Buddy will quickly become your best friend.

Buddy has so much love to give and would thrive in a home with another young dog to play with or a family that can offer him plenty of playdates and socialization opportunities. He’s an active little guy who needs a family that can keep up with his energy and enthusiasm for life.

When Buddy first arrived in our care, he had a serious issue with his left eye, which had to be removed. Once the eye was removed, we had it sent off for testing. The results came back today that they suspect that he had Glaucoma in the left eye, along with some damage caused by a trauma to the eye. Buddy will have to have a pressure test done on his good eye, once per year at his yearly check up. His spirit is undeterred, and his big, beautiful personality shines through every day.

Although Buddy has never been left alone since coming into care, we don’t yet know if he has any separation anxiety. However, we believe that with love, patience, and consistency, he will adjust beautifully to his new home. After all, he’s a puppy, and everything about life is new and exciting to him.

Buddy is ready for his forever family, and he’s hoping that family will be you. He deserves a home filled with love, laughter, and the companionship of a family that understands the joys and challenges of raising a puppy. If you’re ready for the adventure of raising this sweet boy, Buddy will reward you with endless love, loyalty, and joy.

Wee Ones would like to send Kalie Olmstead a huge thank you for everything she did at her recent Christmas Photo Shoot that she held at the Truro Animal Hospital.
Kalie donated all the profits from her fundraiser to Wee Ones.
What beautiful photos she took and she raised more than $1100 for the dogs in care.

Wee Ones is now accepting adoption applications for Tiny Girl and Charlee.

Tiny Girl is a Dachshund crossed with Chihuahua and is 5 years old.
Charlee is a Dachshund who is also 5 years old.

These two sweet girls are a bonded pair and we will not seperate them. They depend on each other and are never far apart.

Do you have room in your heart for two adorable girls?
Charlee and Tiny Girl do well with other dogs and don’t mind sharing their toys. Both are typical Dachshunds and are food motivated. They have so much love to offer and love snuggling up to belly rubs and head scratches.

Both girls have been completely updated on vaccines, spay and are on a monthly flea/tick/dewormer preventive.
Tiny Girl and Charlee have been cleared for adoption by their vet.

Charlee and Tiny Girl are best suited in a home where someone is around a lot.
They are fine with dog savoy children but would prefer to be in a home with no small children running around.
Ideally having someone around a lot better suits their needs. They do have a small amount of separation anxiety but we feel that once they have settled into their forever home, this issue will fade away.

Background information:
Tiny Girl and Charlee came from a Dachshund Rescue in Texas. They were adopted out and ended up coming back to the rescue due to their dad ending up in Hospice Care. This broke their little hearts.
The ladies made the trip to Canada and have settled in nicely to a new life and routine.

Charlee and Tiny Girls adoption fee is $1000 (for both, $500 each).
Both girls are currently in NS.
