We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pet Valu (Truro, NS) for their incredible generosity this December and January. Thanks to their support, they donated an amazing $3,546 worth of food, treats, and toys to help support our dogs in care.

This generous donation goes a long way in keeping our pups happy, healthy, and well cared for while they wait for their forever homes. Community partners like Pet Valu Truro truly make a difference, and we are so grateful for their continued kindness and support. 💛🐶

Update on Lobo & Marshall 💛

After carefully reviewing the applications received, we did not find a home that was the right fit for what Lobo and Marshall need to thrive long-term.

Choosing the best match for each dog is something we take very seriously, and our decisions are always based on their individual needs and well-being.

Both Lobo and Marshall will be reposted and will remain posted until their perfect match is found.

Thank you to all who applied and supported them. While your application wasn’t a match for their specific needs, we’re grateful for your interest and encourage you to keep an eye on our page for other dogs who may be a better fit for your home.

We’re excited to welcome back Lexi from .bujo, who will share a quick intro to vision boards and be on hand throughout the evening to spark ideas and help guide your creativity.

Rocco is still waiting for a family to call his own.

This boy is a fun, loving, energetic pup who wants nothing more than to be someone’s loyal companion. He loves walks, hikes, exploring new scents, and playing with squeaky toys. After a day of adventure, he turns into a total snugglebug who enjoys curling up close to his people.

Rocco is silly, sensitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted once he bonds with you, he just wants to be loved and included.

Ace is a loving, playful, cuddly senior gentleman who is ready to trade in the busy life for a calm, cozy retirement filled with brushing, cuddles, and quiet companionship. He has a gentle soul, a polite nature, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Especially food, affection, and his favourite squeaky toys.

Ace is well-mannered, mostly house-trained, and knows his basics. He may benefit from learning a solid “leave it,” but overall he’s a respectful, easygoing boy who settles nicely into routine.

Here’s what Ace is looking for in his forever home:

🧡 Calm, quiet environment – Ace truly deserves a peaceful place to relax and be doted on in his golden years.
🧡 Only dog preferred – He isn’t a fan of larger dogs and does best as the sole pet, though he can tolerate smaller dogs.

Meet Duke! Duke is an energetic, lovable, goofy boy with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. He’s smart, affectionate, and full of enthusiasm. An “excited, lovable turd” in the very best way.

Once Duke feels comfortable, his true personality shines: playful, loyal, and always ready for his next adventure. Duke enjoys structure and routine and does best when clear rules are set and consistently followed.

He’s very food motivated (especially when it comes to treats and human food), but he has been trained to receive food in specific ways to help him stay focused and calm. Continuing this structure will be important in his forever home.

Here’s what Duke is looking for in a forever family:

Experienced owners – Duke needs confident leadership, consistency, and routines. He is smart and eager to please when expectations are clear.

Active lifestyle – He needs daily exercise, ideally longer leash walks at least twice a day, and would love a fenced yard to run, play fetch, and burn off energy.

Dog companionship – Duke would do well with another energetic, playful dog who can match his enthusiasm.

Calm introductions – He meets new adults well when given space and time to approach on his own terms.

No small children – He is not a good fit for homes with young kids but may be okay with respectful teenagers.

Structure at home – He settles well when left alone (up to about 4 hours), does not destroy items, and patiently waits for his people to return.

Here’s what Marshall needs to thrive:

💛 Quiet Home – Marshall is nervous in new situations and with new people. A calm, low-traffic home will help him feel safe.
💛 Another Dog – He takes comfort from the two small dogs in his foster home and would do best with another quiet, friendly dog to show him the ropes.
💛 Other Pets – He ignores the foster’s two cats, making him an easy fit for a home with respectful felines.
💛 Kids – He has not been tested with children, so an adult-only home or one with older, calm kids is recommended.
💛 Training – Marshall knows 'stay' and 'come' and is working on housetraining. He’s eager to please, food-motivated, and responds well to soft guidance.
💛 Alone Time – He settles well when left alone and has been fine for up to 4 hours, where he relaxes and naps.
💛 Activity – He loves squeaky toys, treats, and being close to his person.
