🐾 Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Needed – Meet Julio 🐾

Julio is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home 💙
He is approximately 7–8 years old and, due to circumstances beyond his control, we unfortunately had to separate him from his brother.

✨ The important stuff:
• Good with other dogs
• Good with cats
• Does well in a crate
• Currently intact, with an appointment booked for Jan 27 in Airdrie for neuter, dental, and vet care
• Not fully house trained yet — this is a work in progress
• Does well wearing diapers
• He’s a naked boy 🥰 (and yes, we have clothes for him!)

Julio is a sweet little guy who just needs a patient, understanding home while he works through some basics and adjusts after such a big change. He’s already set up for success with diapers, clothing, and crate training — now he just needs someone willing to give him stability and kindness.

Meet Kierra 💕

Kierra is a beautiful 2–3 year old Husky mix with a heart as big as her smile. She is dog friendly and would likely do well with dog-savvy cats too. Kierra is everything you love in a companion — affectionate, loving, playful, and incredibly sweet.

Kierra has been in our care since September, and honestly… we don’t understand how she’s still waiting.

Her story is a heartbreaking one. She was found left behind in her dog crate on the side of the highway, and brought into our care by the SPCA. 

Since then, she’s been patiently waiting for someone to choose her.
Despite everything she’s been through, Kierra’s spirit shines. She loves attention, enjoys playtime, and thrives on companionship. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be close to her people and soak up all the love she’s missed out on.

Kierra deserves more than a kennel — she deserves a home, a couch, a family, and a future.

Merry Christmas and thank you to every single person who supported us this year. Every donation, every toy, every bag of food, every share — every little thing truly matters.

Our dogs were absolutely spoiled today 🐾❤️
Full bellies, warm beds, new toys, and lots of love — all because of you.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hugh Sutherland Carstairs High School for their incredible generosity this holiday season ❤️

One of their amazing teachers rallied her class to support our shelter in the most thoughtful ways. The students made handmade snuffle mats, created and hung donation posters throughout the school, and worked together to collect an abundance of extremely useful donations for our animals.

We truly had a tear brought to our eye when we received the hand-painted portraits of some of our long-term dogs. These beautiful pieces will go home with them when they finally find their forever families, making that moment even more special.

They even included treats for our hard-working staff, who pour their hearts and time into these rescue dogs every single day, ensuring they feel the love and care they deserve.

Because of this wonderful community effort, we are able to spoil our rescue dogs over the holidays and keep our facility clean and comfortable. We are beyond grateful for this compassionate and supportive community.

Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in the lives of our animals 🐾

🚨 URGENT – Airdrie Help Needed 🚨

With the horrendous weather and unsafe road conditions, we are urgently looking for someone in Airdrie who can pick up two puppies from the vet and safely hold them overnight for us.

Due to current road conditions, travel from our end is not safe. This would be overnight only until roads improve.

Meet Wallace 🖤

Wallace is a smart, sweet, and affectionate puppy looking for his forever home! Training has been a breeze for him—he’s already learning basic commands, has excellent recall for his age, and is mostly potty trained. He’s crate trained too and even chooses to relax in his crate with the door open during the day.
Wallace is working on walking nicely on a leash and does best with a short lead. He’s been great with kids, absolutely loves playing fetch, and is full of love. Kisses, belly rubs, and cuddles are his specialty—he even wraps his paws around you for the cutest little “hug.”

He would thrive in a home with another puppy or playful dog, as he loves having a friend (he’s tried to befriend the cat, but the feeling isn’t mutual). Wallace is a true sweetheart who would be perfect for an active person or family looking for a loyal best friend.

Update: “Naked and afraid” was a light reference to them being a hairless breed, not a joke about neglect. A small bit of humour helps us cope with the hard realities of rescue. Respectful comments are welcome; abusive ones will be removed.

These two came in today — completely neglected. “Naked and afraid,” if you will… 😅

Jokes aside, they’re actually in pretty rough shape. Both are covered in sores, their teeth are beyond rotten, and one of them is incredibly thin.

I brought them home tonight, and tomorrow they’ll be meeting a potential foster. Once we realized they couldn’t manage dry food, they got some wet — which was met with wagging tails and very full bellies. Despite everything, they’re both very friendly and not afraid at all.

Then this crazy lady rubbed them down with coconut oil, put them in the cutest jammies, and set them up with the comfiest bed imaginable… so really, they can’t complain too much. 💤

We’re going to need to raise some funds for dentals and ongoing care for these old men. We were told they’re brothers and around 7 and 8 years old… possibly 100 — it’s hard to tell right now.

🚨 FOSTER NEEDED – BONDED PAIR 🚨
Location: Crossfield & surrounding area

We’re looking for a foster home for a potentially bonded pair of small, hairless dogs (likely Xolo-type). We have limited information right now, but they’re a small breed and seem to rely on each other for comfort.
They are arriving Friday night.

We’re hoping to place them close to Crossfield so they can easily access our vet and support.
