We had a great time at the JRTCC Fun Day at Northequest Training Facility in Uxbridge yesterday. Here are Paddy and his cousin Cruz racing. Many thanks to Jennifer Brunke for this video. And many thanks to the volunteer, board members and judges from the club who made all this mayhem possible.
Paddy’s first NADD competition doing Air retrieve Friday at Guides Canins INC. He got 5’, which does not seem like a lot, but… This is the culmination of me training him since last fall to grab the bumper from an agility jump, and two classes at Northequest Canine Sport & Training Facility to add the jump into the pool. I’m so proud of this little guy. We will see how far he gets this season. The main thing is that he has learned to put the two tasks together, and to see the bumper. Now we need to add in some speed so he can propel himself forward. Monkey is still learning to see the bumper, but I’m sure he will put it together soon. Thanks as well to Giuliana Cucinelli for inspiring is to begin this journey.
Meanwhile, in Castleton, the girls were determined to get the chipmunk in this bit of pvc pipe. 😆😆😆 I tipped it up, and Lucy almost got it. Maybe tomorrow…😉😜
Here is a video of Paddy racing on a very short course at the JRTCC Fun Day April 20. Many thanks to Rose and all the folks at Reidell Farm, and all the volunteers who worked to make this day happen. Paddy loves loves loves racing!
This is what my dogs are barking at. 😆😆 well, also crows, but the turkeys are everywhere.
I meant to put this up just after the eclipse, but I messed up. Johnny made this video of the eclipse outside with the dogs. They didn’t seem too bothered. 🙂 maybe because they get treats at the campfire. 😉
Our Iron Paws video for Thursday. They are wearing the little logo badges of the race mascot called Taneum,
Valle’s prepping for dock diving is … um … a little like her ratting.😆❤️😆❤️😆❤️ #vallethehuntterrier #naddnationalchampionships
North America Diving Dogs (aka NADD) Nationals are pretty amazing, with 5 pools and lots of bling, people, music, gear and general mayhem. Of course there are lots of obedient and good dogs at this event, but terriers have their own way to roll. #vallethehuntterrier #naddnationalchampionships
We are at NADD nationals, and of course these two were pulling like freight trains at the arena. So it may surprise some people that they actually do know how to walk on a loose leash. Mostly. You can see I stop a couple times when the leash goes taut, and wait for a couple seconds, then we go on. They really do try to be good. ❤️🙂 😆😆
It’s harder to hear on the video, but just south of us is a wetland, and the migrating ducks are very loud. They rest up there and then take off for the next leg of their journey. ❤️
Uh oh…one of the hazards of walking your dog in Toronto….
My helpers bringing back the empty recycling bins, while I brought the garbage can. 😆😆 they are very good going downhill until …💥 I know I could drive the car down, but where’s the fun in that? 😆😆😆❤️
There’s a chipmunk in this pipe 😆😆😆poor Gretel….
Happy Birthday to Lucy, Riley, Drex, Vinz Clortho, Abby, and Hilde! Here they all are on their first day with watchful, proud mum Gretel.
Gretel’s pup Duke in Newfoundland. I’m not sure if it’s super hot there, but a swim fetching a big stick is always popular. Good Boy Duke!
