Today from 4-8PM at the Polson Artisan Night Market I'm offering training trials - $15 for 15 minutes.

Ever wanted to try training with your dog, but just not sure if it will work with your dog? I've got a great opportunity for you and your dog!

Possible Trial Training Options Available Today:
Jumping up, obedience, pulling on leash & leash manners, greetings, fun tricks, proper socialization, and much more!

**This trial will be limited to dogs who are okay in busy environments (dogs, people of all ages, other animals, etc.). Unfortunately this event will not be suitable for reactive or aggressive dogs. However, we do have some more suitable options for these awesome pups as well! PM me for more information.

Only one trial session per dog please.

PawPrint Method Dog Training is putting on a 3 day workshop in Vernon for teaching your dog(s) how to be comfortable around and on your paddle board.
Cost: $60 each per 1hr group training session ($180 total cost). Option to continue on to part 2 available.
Dogs must be okay with other dogs both on and off leash for this workshop.
You must provide your own paddle board and any other gear you feel necessary for you and your dog.
Only one dog per handler please.

6 Fun Group Classes on Saturdays!
Great for pups up to 1 year.
A smaller group that allows for: more 1:1 time with your trainer, a better learning environment, and more value. Puppy classes are great for helping: with proper socialization, to build a solid foundation, starting basic obedience, to create a more well-rounded dog, and much more.
We also offer support to new puppy parents.

Thinking of muzzle conditioning? Always a great idea for most dogs, even just for those “What If…” situations.

✅ A muzzled dog is not a bad dog.

✅ Muzzles aren’t bad and don’t harm the dog when used correctly and with proper conditioning.

Reasons many consider proper muzzle condition:

🐾 Potential pain or anxiety/stress at the vet/groomer (MC ahead of time can help prepare you and your dog, as well as alleviate some added stress in similar situations/environments)
🐾 Eating things they shouldn’t (should always be combined with working on training)
🐾 Just incase situations
🐾 May be needed to safely evaluate the dog in diffrent environments/situations.
🐾 Reactivity
🐾 Aggression
🐾 Bite risk/Potential bite risk in certain situations
🐾 May be used to indicate a team may need a bit
more space.

Muzzle conditioning should always be supplementry to training for the environment.

When to not muzzle:

❌ Puppy still learning bite inhabition/biting too hard in play

❌ Punishment

❌ Puppy eating things they shouldn't (unless working with a good trainer who has decided this is safest while working on training).

❌ Any time a dog will be unsupervised for any length of time.

❌ To stop barking

❌ To let a dog "work it out" with people, other dogs, animals, etc. this can be dangerous, lead to injury, and worse behaviour problems.

❌ The muzzle is ill-fitted

❌ Flood your dog/push your dog through situations they aren't ready for.

General Notes:

Dog's can still cause serious harm in certain situations while wearing a muzzle.

Muzzles that hold a dog's mouth shut should very rarely be reccomended and never for long periods of time. They prevent a dog from panting properly which can lead to over-heating, added stress/anxiety, etc.

Did you know there’s different styles of muzzles for diffrent needs and breeds?

General with a well fitted muzzle a dog should he able to fully pant, drink, eat, play, etc… it may just take some modifications and practice. ☺️🐾

Proper socialization helps to:

🐾 Raise more confident, well-rounded dogs.

🐾 Lessen the chances of a dog becoming fearful, reactive, insecure, and/or aggressive.

🐾 Decrease unnecessary stress for you and your dog(s).

Did you know there’s an ideal socialization window that closes between the ages of 3-4 months for puppies?!
Our pups can still learn proper socialization after this window closes. However, it’s definitely ideal to work on it before this window closes or at least as soon as we get our new best friend. 🐾

It’s been too long, so here’s another much deserved PUPdate!
These amazing pups and their human have been hard at work. They decided to try out some training for reactivity, pulling on leash, lacking other leash manners, separation anxiety, jumping up, etc. And it sure has been worth it!
Their human wanted a change to help make all their lives better and less stressful. It’s a work in progress, but so much positive progress in just 6 sessions! Paws are spending more time on the ground and less time up on people, leash manners for the pups and leash handling by their person have made excellent progress. Confidence is on the rise! Their human is noticing more subtle body language, so she is able to read her pups better already. She’s now able to implement training while keeping her pups comfort level in a better zone. Keep an eye out for these pups, their pupdates will be worth it. I’m excited to see these pups continue their journey to confidence and success, are you?!?

Meet Tilly!
Tilly is learning basic obedience, a couple tricks, and some agility just for fun. She is a really sweet pup, and has been having lots of fun training with us. Her young owner is part of the 4-H club dog project I sponsor/train.
Her grandma has made a few remarks about how well her granddaughter and Tilly are doing together with their training. I agree, but always nice to hear! Keep it up you two!

I’ll be at the next Polson Market, June 16th from 4pm-8pm.
I will be giving free 10-15 minute trial classes, so feel free to stop by and sign-up.
Dogs are welcome to attend the market, but they must be crowd friendly (there are other animals there as well), must be on a 6ft leash, and follow all other park/RDNO rules & bylaws.

We have:

🐾 Awesome fake pups - kids can interact with them, learn about dogs, etc. Pictures with the fake dogs and your child (or your adult friend, etc. we don’t judge😂) are welcome! They seem to be a big hit with the kids! 🐾💜

🐾 Brochures with information/pricing.

🐾 A water station for pups (pups do not share bowls). You can also ask us for a treat for your pup! Courtesy of our “No Bad Paws” promotion!
