It takes me 95 hours to make our Pork Ear chews. From the time I reach out to our local supplier- to pick up- to clean/trim/scrub- to dry- to label and package- to photograph and market the end product. We could buy in bulk, from a random website, from who knows where, and re label and sell it as our own. I’d save a whole lot of time, energy and I’d be making a whole heck of a lot more $$. But I didn’t create @_rudysbarkary as a “get rich quick” scheme. I created this business because I recognized a need for a change in the way we feed our pets. Rudy is thriving since I’ve introduced fresh whole foods into his diet- and I wanted other pet owners to have the same access. I’m feeling a bit burnt out to be honest- I have a busy market season and have decided to not continue website restocks until the fall. I will keep the website up to date in what I have in stock and any leftovers from markets- if you are local you can order through our website and choose “local pickup” as an option. The process of recipe testing this round has been a labor of love, and while we haven’t figured out how to make this shelf stable yet, we know your pups are going to L O V E the freshness in every bite.
What are the benefits you ask?
Dehydrated organ meats contain dietary fiber that supports healthy digestion in dogs. This fiber helps regulate bowel movements and can alleviate common digestive issues, such as constipation or diarrhea!
The fiber in organ meats can also support a balanced gut microbiome, which is crucial for proper digestion and nutrient absorption. A well-functioning digestive system ensures that your dog can efficiently absorb nutrients from their food, leading to better overall health!
Organ meats should complement your dog’s regular diet, not replace it entirely. They are a supplement, not a staple. Serve our dehydrated organ meats as a treat or meal topper in appropriate portions based on your dog’s size, age, and activity level. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend less than 1/4 cup per 80lbs of pet weight. A little goes a looong way!
