Finn. Finn was a challenge for me today. He did look better when he left but I was not completely happy with his haircut. He is still a puppy so although he was being good he had had enough and I needed to call it and say good enough. Hopefully next time will be better as I have a better idea of his personality and hair coat. This was the first time I groomed Finn.

This is a great example of how a pet's tooth can look healthy on the outside but hide severe dental disease underneath the gum line. The roots of this tooth were very diseased and the tooth needed to be extracted ASAP! This is why we never recommend anesthetic-free hand scaling as an alternative to a thorough dental examination and radiographic assessment by a veterinarian.

Thankfully this gorgeous pup is going to be feeling much better with that problem tooth out! 😁🦷

This is Diesel. He started coming to me for grooming just over a year ago. When he first started coming to me I could not get near him to pick him up off the floor. I didn't think I would even be able to do him at that first groom. The owner would have to put him on the table and then I could take him from there but never put him down. Even then he was still super nervous and unsure. At one point, because it stressed me so much grooming him, I asked the owner to find another groomer for him. But she sweet talked me into taking him one more time. Fast Forward several months, now when he comes in the door he runs right over to me and he will even jump up into my lap. He is still pretty nervous but at least trusts me enough to come to me and let me pick him up. I don't think I will ever be able to let my guard down completely with him but I'm glad I stuck it out for both Diesel and his owner.
