We're about to head into a cold snap that is known as a polar vortex with temperatures feeling close to -30. PLEASE.... If you see an animal in distress, without access to proper shelter, call your local animal control, humane society or even the police. Be their voice!

We can't take credit for this, as it was circulating social media, but a very good reminder and some food for thought. Here in Southern Ontario, our risk for natural disaster is low, but it's never zero. Having an emergency plan, regardless of where you live is important!

What a way to ring in 2025 🎉 Our truly amazing friends at Mutt Life held their annual Christmas fundraiser for rescue. WOW to say we are truly blown away by the generosity and compassion is an understatement. We always say it takes a village and what an amazing village to be part of. With the generosity of the community they raised $5145 that will be split between us and Furever Able Rescue. All the money raised will go directly to our vet bills and this has helped us immensely to pay our vet bills down before we close the doors. Our hearts are full and we are truly touched by the companies and individuals who donated items, those that purchased tickets and spread the word THANK YOU!! To Jason & Stacey you are two amazing people and we thank you for your years of friendship, kindness and compassion to all the dogs in our rescue 🧡🐾Together YOU have helped make difference. Mutt Life you and your dog will dig it 🧡🐾your feline friends too 😸

What a difference a year makes ❤️Sadie was the last momma dog we rescued from the horrors of living in a puppy mill with her two puppies. This video is from her forever mom at it brings tears to our eyes. A dog once so shut down and afraid of everything and so sick, it was so touch and go for a while for her and her two puppies last year . Sadie is thriving and having the time of her life just simply being a dog and never having to worry about being bred or face the horrors of a puppy mill ever again. She is loved, she is happy, she has fur siblings and she is true testament of a village working together to help make a difference. Adopt Don’t Shop!!!! We still have vet bills from when we rescued the 23 golden doodles last year and any donation to help towards those vet bills would be so greatly appreciated. We have a pupdate from the handsome TDRI alumni Jake and his family. How special to see the kids growing along with Jake ❤️. We recently celebrated a milestone 9 years since we adopted Jake from The Dog Rescuers, and thought we'd share some photos with you.It's difficult to express just how much Jake means to us. He really is the best dog ever. We've had so many adventures together and he is always so happy to just be with us wherever we go, whatever we're doing.He is getting older now and his vision is fading. We take lots of slow walks, let him smell everything and stop to rest. We're trying to enjoy every moment with him.Thank you so much for the amazing work you do. We can't imagine life without Jake!
