Finding your life’s purpose through the way of the horse
I have been riding horses since I was 8 years old. My neighbour and big sister, Sarah, let me play with her horse and pony and started to teach me how to ride. We had a lot of fun together! A couple years later I shared a pony with some other girlfriends of mine. Eventually they got their own horses and so I became his sole owner. He was a jerk sometimes as ponies can be. I remember going on a trail ride one day, more of a trek through the forest and we ran into a herd of Elk and a Black Bear. It was quite the adventure! He ended up getting heaves and eventually we had to send him to the interior of BC where it was dryer for him. You see there are so many things to consider in the care of horses. My journey had just begun. A couple years later I knew I wasn’t done with horses. Sarah and I went to meet Danny. He was 5 years old at the time. Much bigger to me then Tony the Pony was. I got on his back and began to walk him around. His stride felt so big! After some contemplation I decided to buy him. Danny and I began to get to know each other as we explored the trails and forests in Kleindale. We went to a few gymkhanas together. He was my man. I left Danny when I went to school and did some travelling but I always came home to him. A couple years ago after coming home again I decided Danny need a companion, a friend. He had had other friends along the way but not one that stuck by his side, other than me of course. Skip and Danny just happen to be born a week apart from eachother and both come from the same previous owner. Coinsidence? They are both Geminis. Gemini traits include; expressive and quick-witted, Gemini represents two different personalities in one and you will never be sure which one you will face. They are sociable, communicative and ready for fun, with a tendency to suddenly get serious, thoughtful and restless. This is so true for these boys of mine. It is amazing how life unfolds as we grow and live with purpose and curiousity. You are never too old to learn something new, or face a new challenge in life. Gemini Equine Therapy is still unfolding and will always be. Be happy, be free, be you!
