It seems my elf has arrived a day early….

Meet Libby!
We tried to have a photo shoot today but it sort of turned into a blooper reel.

Libby is just one on a long list of amazing dogs available for adoption through the Pincher Creek Humane Society
This sweet girl is on the older more mature side, that is a plus in my mind! I k it’s love older dogs so much they always seem to just fit in to a new life so seamlessly and are just happy and grateful to have a home. Libby has great manners and she absolutely loves other dogs and humans. She is a Chocolate lab and maybe even a touch of duck toller? It’s hard to say for sure she is 5ish…. a lady never truly reveals her age.
If you think this spunky elf would be a good fit for your family or possibly someone you know please share and let’s find this girl a home!

I can’t believe it took so long to come to this conclusion Pincher Creek Humane Society I think we are going to make a great team!

It is absolutely the best feeling in the world to know I have found forever homes for the remaining fosters who lived here for years!

While this has been the best feeling ever to know that they all are living every dogs dream with amazing families who live each and everyone of them just how they are, it has been bitter sweet. Since this facility opened we have had rescues and fosters, recently I realized I may have empty nest syndrome.

I couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to help socialize and find homes for so many of the pups in need.
From now on I will be supporting this wonderful group of people who take animal rescue seriously, they are not just collecting animals to stay relevant like our local rescue that many of you are already aware of.

These guys are the real deal and they currently have so many dogs available that are not even on the website yet. These people activly look for homes for the pets they have available, they are also always coming up with fun ideas to raise money for the animals in their care.
I hope more locals will consider donating and reaching out to this amazing place if you are looking to help animals in need. I will be more than happy to take food and pet products as donations for the Pincher creek SPCA and together we are planning some fun ways to get involved so stay tuned!

Have you met our newest employee Eleven yet? You can usually find her in the office making sure there are no stray kibbles left behind, or begging for big fat tummy rubs.

She is our employee of the month because she has been working very hard on her manners and social skills and it shows!

Can you guess how we came up with her STRANGE name? If your a nerd like I am , the rock I painted for her might give you a hint

Good morning and Happy thanksgiving.

I was just notified that one of our little buddies has kennel cough. So for no one here has any symptoms. As always I will be diligent and will let clients know if I notice anything unusual if needed. Please help me keep everyone happy and healthy.

Just a friendly reminder:

If your dog doesn’t quite seem right or is showing any of the following symptoms, please keep them away from daycare until they are completely back to normal or have been given the ok by a veterinarian.

We appreciate your efforts in keeping our facility a healthy, safe, fun place to play and stay.

This post is long overdue! I have had alot of compliments on the estetic changes I have been working on at the daycare

I’m so happy to FINALLY be able to shout from the ROOFTOPS 😏(pun intended)😝…about one of the most important, exciting and just plain beautiful changes that many people may not have even noticed.
To most, this is just a roof. To me this was something that I have been dreaming of doing since we bought our building. Our roof had been leaking for years, it caused a lot of stress and worry when winter came, the amount of heat that escaped through the cracks made our bills astronomical. Each time it rained the drywall was getting wet and more damaged in places. Everytime it seemed like we would finally be able afford to get it fixed, another huge financial obstacle would get in the way.

I owe DC Roofing Inc. the biggest thank you in the world I don’t think that I would have made it through another winter without their help. This BY FAR is my favourite thing of all things!!! 🥳🥳 I’m so proud and will be eternally grateful for this roof over our head.

This is also probably one of the nicest group of people I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time. Happy and friendly employees because they work for kick ass employers.

I also need to thank them for introducing Henry to our pack!
He is such a cute little meatball and I’m so lucky I get to spend so much time with him. ❤️
Thank you guys so much, I appreciate your help and support more than you could ever know.

25/09/2023

Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone and thank you for your continued love and support. By far this has been the most challenging and exhausting years I have ever experienced as a business owner.

I appreciate each and every single one of you more than anyone could ever know. ❤️

Time to address the rumour mill!

Sorry this is a bit of a long story.

I was hoping that by waiting a little while to post about that day, I might have more concrete answers. What I was told was that a cougar or a large cat, was most likely in the yard at the time I opened the overhead. It was probably very quick once it heard or 1.saw the dogs, saw an opportunity for an easy meal, hopped the fence and was gone.
There was no body but evidence that she was as killed in a nearby structure then taken away.

That morning when I realized my little dogs was missing after our morning let out,
I loooked everywhere, moving furniture looking under blankets all over the yard and found nothing. I started to completely panic calling everyone I could think of for help.
I was able to get ahold of one of my amazing kind clients and she headed out to me to help me tear everything apart and turn everything upside down, look for any holes in the fence.

It was still very early at this point ,I called fish and wildlife incase a predator was involved and I left a message with them.

My Client and I walked to a spot we had past many times before looking for a place where the little one may have slipped out of the fence.
I’m not even sure if it was her or I who had noticed the top of my fence. We had been looking on the ground all along. At the top of the chain link the pole had definitely been pushed down but something large and the fence was bent downward. There was also a lump of blonde fur mixed with blood hanging on the wire.

I obviously became completely unhinged and began to panic thinking the worst. I had no idea what to do, my biggest mistake turned out to be asking the wrong person for help.

I messaged this person because I knew she of all people would know what I should do and who I should call. She told me if it were her, She would call a peace officer. Then she kindly offered to come out with a peace officer and her dog to help us search the area. I was so relieved that I had professionals on the way to help me. Unfortunately that was not the case.

If I had only been in touch with fish and wildlife, I probably would have had a better understanding of exactly what kind of animal it was and how on earth it was able to get away with a small dog in such a short period of time.

I knew that I was opening myself up to trouble when I reached out.
I still reached out, not giving a s**t about rumours and my reputation, I care about the dogs and my clients way above myself, not money not, my reputation or my health, Clients and Animals always come first.

After talking on the phone with someone at fish and wild life, I learned that by having a peace officer and a person with a dog come to “help” any evidence of what exactly took this dog would have been destroyed. They obviously knew who it was that came to “help” I was told she definitely knew better, that she should have told me to wait for fish and wild life, and that she had absolutely no business being there.

All that I ask, If you hear anything other than the truth, consider the source follow your instincts and heart, 1100 clients and their dogs could be wrong.
These rumours and lies started with two ugly humans and that’s all. They have combined multiple rumours and incidents, some true and some not then rolled it all in to one giant rumour.

Dogs do not speak with words, they show us in many other ways if they are happy and excited or scared and not wanting to do something or go somewhere. I can proudly say that every dog that comes here, weather they stay for the day or 2 months at a time, are always so happy to come back and so happy to see me specifically, I make sure I have a close relationship with every single dog.

I have taken on an astronomical amount of work, stress and not to mention debt ,so I could still be here for everyone and their dogs. I’m not going to just give up and quit on them I’m not built that way.

I would also like to mention that yes, dog fights have happened here. Who knows a dog fight could happen again.

This is why we have waivers so that people are aware that there are risks of dogs being in a group setting. Dogs can be very powerful and even scary when they fight, they are animals and we cannot predict them all of the time, no matter how hard we try. That being said, in all of my experience. I have never seen a dog eat or consume another dog.

I am a professional person and have been in the pet industry for a very long time. If I had an injured or deceased dog I would never discard or throw away someone’s family member to save my own ass.
I always have and always will notify clients if I notice anything out of the ordinary, weather it’s stomach upset, an injury that I hadn’t noticed, or a dog fight.
I will always let clients know and seek medical attention if that is what’s needed. I feel like that would go without saying.

I have also heard the daycare was dirty, instead of cleaning and organizing getting laundry started, I spent hours looking for the dog. I was not worried that it was muddy messy and chaotic. I only cared about finding her. I didn’t think to run around cleaning and preparing for a malicious person to come in here and judge me.

This is an open concept facility, dogs are not crated and in a small separate areas. They are free all night long, even with only 13 dogs in this building over night you better believe it is a complete disaster here every morning. On average I spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours cleaning per day.

I feel very sorry for this whole situation. I’m so sorry to the dog who went home that day with out a sibling and the clients who went home with broken hearts.
Unfortunately if the right professionals were there,it may have lead to more information and closure but I will never know that now.

I’m going to be posting pictures again and have almost completed all renovations. I’m very excited and proud of all of the changes im making and how hard I have been working to accommodate everyone.

Im not going to hide or feel ashamed any longer because I know that I didn’t do anything wrong, I was assured that I could build a larger fence but if a big cat wants to come in to a yard they are coming in to that yard and it would be difficult to stop them.
This situation was out of my control and I can’t change what happened.
My heart is still broken and I will never forget that day.

Since this has happened I have had so many warnings about the person who decided you use something so sad and unfortunate to try “get me” The only reason is her friend doesn’t like me.

Grow up! This is not high school, this was a life lost, it was horrible and unexpected, it’s not a game. I have done nothing to deserve this kind of hate.
Try to have a little respect for your selves, move on, keep your toxicity and rumours away from me and my amazing business.

21/09/2023

Hey everyone, no surprise there have been a lot of rumours about and incident that occourrrd here a few weeks ago. I know one thing for sure they all came from one person, who used a tragedy and someone asking for help as ammunition.

I will be putting out a post to explain my account of that day.

It is quite a long read but it is important to me to get my side out there.

Please consider the source and feel free to ask me about the incident. I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of. This was out of my control and I can’t beat myself up about it anymore or it will consume me

11/09/2023
