In loving memory of Moby.
I share the beautiful words written by his beloved family.

Moby ~ June 30, 2011 - January 17, 2024

His paw prints are still on the snow outside,
and his nose prints are still on the door.
His fur still clings to the places he lay,
but his toys are untouched on the floor.

His collar lies empty, his dish upside down,
his bark doesn't ring in the hall.
His footsteps don't follow behind me upstairs,
and no Moby comes when I call.

His soft, brown eyes that watched me,
his silken ears I kissed.
His sweet, warm head upon my lap
Does he know how much he's missed?

Sammy and Lucy still wash in the sun,
Lily is loving and near.
Ollie and Clark sing their guinea pig songs,
but the house knows that he isn't here.

For twelve and a half years his beautiful soul
nourished our hearts like the sun.
From the day that he entered our lives we all knew
that a beautiful love had begun.

His energy so filled with life, love and joy,
his thrill in the smallest delight.
He made his connections with no other aim
than to comfort and make it all right.

I have no doubt he runs up in heaven, God plays with him while we're apart.
I've no doubt he'll be there to greet me one day...
But... for now...

There's a Moby-shaped hole in my heart.

Remembering Piper Timbit 💕🐾

I was so lucky to have been Piper’s veterinarian since she was a tiny pup. She always had a smile on her face and absolutely loved people.

My heart is broken for her family who had to say goodbye much too soon. Piper lost her fight with cancer yesterday and crossed over the rainbow bridge. 🌈
We will never forget you Piper. You left your paw print on all of our hearts. 💕

This week I was gifted the most beautiful and personalized mitts from a family whose animals I have been so lucky to care for in my house call practice.

The details and meanings in every aspect of these mitts are so personal to me - from a picture of my beloved dog Aspen, the veterinary caduceus symbol and the hearts - some days full and some days empty.

Some days are very hard in this career path and I have to remind myself why I became a veterinarian. I will treasure this gift and I am so thankful to the wonderful family who reminded me why I love my job. ❤️
