Dear Steele Arrow family, it’s with mixed emotions that I share this update: after being offered a wonderful new opportunity, we have decided to discontinue our walking and training services. Over the past 10 years, it’s been an incredible journey filled with wagging tails, joyful pups, and unforgettable memories. I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support, trust, and love for our furry companions. Your trust in us has been the backbone of our success, and it’s been an honor to serve this community. While this chapter may be closing, the love for dogs and the bonds we’ve formed will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. With the temperatures dropping, we wanted to share a few tips to keep your dogs safe:

❄️ Limit time outside during extreme cold. This includes bathroom breaks. Shorten walk times and your dog's exposure to the cold.
❄️ On those frigid days, keep them safe by exercising them indoors. Check out our blog for cold-weather enrichment ideas https://ow.ly/tsL150QpEVA
❄️ Protect their paws by putting booties on them, using paw balm, and using dog-friendly ice melt.
❄️ Minimize the risk of frostbite and keep them warm by ensuring they've got appropriate winter gear like a coat.
❄️ Ensure they stay warm and comfortable at home by providing adequate bedding and ensuring it's in a warm spot.
❄️ Recognize problems such as the signs of hypothermia (shivering, pale gums, lethargy, difficulty walking, confusion).

Frostbite can be challenging to see while it's happening, so watch for other signs of discomfort from your dog to indicate they need to go inside. Dogs can't tell us when they are uncomfortable, so we must keep outdoor sessions short and take steps to protect our dogs from the elements.
