Being an animal lover myself, I understand the need for the perfect sitter for your animal for a night, weekend or week. Look no further you have come to the right place! We are reliable, trustworthy, efficient and give you the peace of mind you need during your time away. "The Funny Farm" is located in Southwest E

dmonton. Here we offer the tender love, and care for your furry, scaley, feathery two or fuzzy four legged companion in my, or we can try to accommodate your, home. We try to be as crate free as possible. Unless there is a reason for it. Your dog has full access to my house and backyard and we do not charge for extra walks or dog park visits. You pay a flat rate and our days will be based on the weather and what activities we can do during our time together. Whether that be inside or outside, we aim to tire those pooches out! As we are not your regular commercialized animal daycare or boarding, we cannot offer discounts on multiple pets staying because they are more socialized, walked numerous times daily and are monitored 24/7. All vaccinations are required before your pet stays with us (recommended 7 days prior to visiting, don't forget Bordetella to protect against kennel cough), and it is preferred that your animal is spayed/neutered to prevent from any dominancy issues. It is also recommend that your animal be on a flea preventative so we can provide a clean and safe environment for all. We are able to pick up and drop off your pet, if you are unable, for a fee depending on location. It is suggested that we arrange a mutually convenient time for a meet and greet as we have a zoo of our own and want everyone to get along for the health and safety of the pets. If you and your pet choose our home, please include their food, dishes and treats because your pet may have a sensitivity issues to certain foods and the last thing we want is an upset animal for either party. Your pet may even benefit from having a blanket(s) or toy(s) to remind them of home so they are not home sick. Please note with the dogs, their toys will get destroyed. We cannot be held liable for a toy being destroyed due to the dogs playing tug of war or any other games with it. We will have toys here for them to play with and will not charge extra when they get destroyed. We have a fairly decent sized fenced backyard in which all dogs will have access to, and dog parks close by (Chappelle/Paisley, Deermound and Terwillegar off leash dog parks are just a short drive away). Remember this is all included in the price you pay if it is a dog you are bringing. Dog park visits are dependent on weather, your dogs temperament, time and if on request. This is not something we ever force. All breeds of animals are welcome. Although, we do not tolerate any bad behaviour (biting, excessive hu***ng, aggression) so make sure you have an emergency contact on file in the event your animal may need to be removed from our home in the event you are out of town. We do have experience with a vast majority of dogs but not all animals are the same. We will bring your animal to the vet should this emergency arise. Depending on the event leading to this visit we will bill accordingly. We will contact you before making that decision. If you are unavailable, we'll contact your emergency contact. We'd ask that you or your emergency contact pay for the invoice. We are usually available on short notice so do not hesitate to contact us regarding your pets stay. Although booking in advance ensures a more secure reservation. We do not board on Christmas Eve/Day or New Years Eve/Day.

(weekend service only or inquire for weekday - can be dropped off any time of the day but must be picked up by midnight; after midnight this visit will be considered an overnight visit and an extra $15 will be applied, if your dog(s) is(are) still not picked up by the time they were dropped off the previous day another $20 playday charge will be applied. We understand life happens to just give us a shout if something comes up! Doggy daycare includes: TLC, feeding + hydrated, walk(s)/park time (on request), treats, socialization, - weather dependent

Doggies staying overnight $35/night
(midnight and beyond, your dog must be picked up by the time you dropped them off the night before; ex: 8am drop off = 8am pick up the next day, if your dog(s) is(are) still not picked up by the time they were dropped off, there will be an additional play day charge of $20)
Doggy daycare includes: TLC, feeding + hydrated, walk(s)/park time (on request), treats, socialization, - weather dependent

Dog sitting at your house $40/night
Includes: feeding, walks, play time, park time upon request

Drop in services $25/hour. If your animal requires transportation services (includes to & from), we can discuss rates if this service is requested. Animals staying longer then 7 days will receive a 10% discount after the 7th day.

A little bit about The Funny Farm:
Hi, I'm Jen, owner and operator, with the help of my boyfriend Oscar and our mini, Valerie! We do this as a hobby and passion of ours. Your smile and your companions tail wag means the world to us! We have had animals our whole lives and don't doubt that will ever change. Jen has been approached by friends and family over the last fifteen years to look after their companions when they have made vacation plans or just needed a sitter. She would either spend the night at their home caring for their pets or stop in to feed, clean up after the pet, walk the dog(s) or to provide some socialization so the animal isn't lonely. Jen has completed her first aid once upon a time ago and has familiarized herself with what to do in emergency situations. With this all being said, we have decided to step outside the box and create a business doing something we love. We have a zoo of our own and take great care in providing for them. Our animals are also featured, along with any updates. We have 3 dogs (Winston, Leroy and Daisy), 2 bunnies (Theodore and Bunni), and a cockatiel (LuLu). All of our animals have had their annual vaccines for the year as well get their "bug" treatments each month. They are genuinely friendly and accepting of the companions coming into our home. When caring for your furry friend we promise to treat them as one of our own. They will get the love and care any, and every, animal should during their visit with us.
