Hi everybody! I’m Fancy, the newest team member for PoochedYYC. Thought I’d introduce myself and my puppies! I have always had a passion for dog’s. I got my first pup when I was 19, I had always wanted a Pomeranian. My grandfather had a real love for Pom’s when I was growing up and he passed that on to me. My first dog Chipa has been by my side for 7 years now! My second and third dog came into my life through my best friend, she happened to be my neighbour and also had a love for Pomeranians. Her two dogs Malakai and Scamp became our shared dogs when we became roommates! My youngest and smallest pup Chunk is actually Chipa and Malakai’s baby! My passion for my fury four legged friends led me to begin exploring the professional side of caring for dogs! Had my lovely wife @danican_skywalker helping me out yesterday with some recall work with Patch! Sometimes what your dog is doing when you call them is more interesting than coming to you, so these 4 steps are some of the most important for success! 1. Make sure to only use your recall cue once! 2. Get low, get high pitch, and fun!! There’s no shame in dog training :) 3. Cheer them on! Make sure you stay the most interesting thing for the whole journey 4. When they get to you, Party!!! Party for 20 seconds as soon as they get to you. Lots of treats, praise, and fun!! Our Story

Fetchingly Fit is a small dog walking company that started in mid 2014. While in university studying psychology, I (Cody) started walking dogs between classes to pay for school. I had always grown up with dogs, and absolutely loved getting to spend time with them. As my client base grew it started to become something bigger than I had ever imagined. I had to either start turning away new potential clients, or begin dog walking as my full time career, the choice following was obvious! Dogs had very quickly become my greatest passion, and even as someone who really enjoyed my classes, I was more excited to get out and hang out with my dogs. I finished my semester and with the support of my family, friends, and my girlfriend (now wife) Danica, I took the leap and took on dog walking full time. It has been a wild ride but it has truly been one of the best decisions of my life!

Since becoming a dog walker, I have learned so much about dogs and the amazing companions that they are. Whether it was from reading and researching and taking side courses (such as pet first aid & dog training certification), or by getting to watch dogs interact and playing and learning with them. My wife Danica has even taken on her own pack and is loving getting to build her relationship with her dogs as well!

Because of the support and encouragement from the people in our lives, and the trust that those first clients had in me to look after their furry family members, Danica and I get to make a living doing a job we absolutely love!
