Dream River Stables Home to the orignial Pony School , often imitated but never duplicated. Our one of a kind program is like no other in the maritimes.

Offering English Riding Lessons & Programs ages 4+
Private Lessons & Events Riding School that starts from the ground up. There is so much information and things that young riders should properly learn before riding a 1200lbs animal on their own. With most programs being outdated, I began designing The Saddle Club. Where kids learn from the ground up, not only to become great riders but to be a g

reat horse person something that is needed to proceed in this sport. The Saddle Club is a safe place to make friends both human and equines, and enjoy everything we can learn about horses and riding. With all age and experience levels in mind there are separate groups and all in tack lessons are private. There is a huge plethora of knowledge that goes into owning and riding horses, and most of that is learned on the ground. This program is separated into two parts . Every week The Saddle Club hosts Pony School, which is an interactive learning session about different topics. There are different grades of pony school and as they continue their journey every 12 weeks a graduation is held to introduce them to the next grade of Pony School. As the grades go up, so does the complexity , and riding opportunities.

Today was time for the Dentist to visit ! Thank you so much to Valley Equine Vets & their team for doing spring checkups on our horses !

Having access to great horse vets is a privilege and we are so grateful for the care and dedication this team provides!

Educational Moment 🐴

Pictured below is Gabby having her teeth floated . This is painless & Gabby has had a little bit of the horse equivalent to laughing gas to help keep her relaxed during the process.
Horses in the wild spend much of their time wandering and slowly grazing .
We are so lucky to offer the next best thing and the best situation for most domestic horses which is 24/7 access to hay at our farm , which actually helps horses keep their teeth from becoming sharp.

As a horse eats they grind the food up using their back teeth not the ones you see in the front, this grinding motion slowly grinds down the teeth keeping them from developing sharp points , every year we check horses teeth to see if there are any sharp points that have formed from not wearing the teeth evenly . Adult horses teeth never stop growing so keeping up with this is very important !

As mentioned Gabby felt none of this simply the feeling of something in her mouth , although powered by a drill these equine floats are very safe and do not have sharp blades rather a sandpaper like texture that very finely helps wear those points down .

Shortly after her teeth were done she got her annual vaccine & within an hour she was back to eating hay !

Regular vet appointments are great to have at the farm not only do they help keep our horses feeling their best , they give us great educational opportunities.

We are currently accepting new students at Dream River Stables

We focus on the entire experience of being an equestrian . Students learn at their own pace in Private Lessons offered year round , we have a lovely outdoor riding arena and are currently finishing the siding on a beautiful brand new indoor , with lots of light and built to the standards of a proper indoor riding arena .

We also offer a one of a kind program which allows kids to come to the farm for group sessions to learn about horses and their needs on the ground !

We have flexibility in our schedule , wonderful facilities , a fantastic line up of horses or as we prefer to say “Equine Educators” who have each been picked specifically for our programs

We aim to make this sport as affordable as possible especially during these tough times with low lesson rates & discounts for Pony School Members !
