“Wait” is one of those commands I use alllll day long. With my own dogs as well as my walking crew. I find it to be the most practical command you can teach a dog. It’s fantastic for safety reasons too!
“Wait” is focusing on me, staying where they are and not move forward until I release them.
I use wait for when the dogs get in and out of the van, when I pick up poop, when we get to an intersection, before I take their leashes off, while being towelled off, when someone passes us on the trail, when I have to tie my shoe, giving out treats etc etc etc! So many uses!
