It was another great weekend for the Redwood Show Team at the August . Our Hunter and Jumper squads pinned in all their events and the rain stayed away so we could compete at our best.
Mary and RWS Picasso (aka Flash) put in 3 beautiful over fences trips coming home with a 6th and 8th in a very competitive class.
Ella and Donāt Call Me Sweety (aka Roo) had a beautiful day at their first show - improving with every trip bringing home 6th place o/f; a 3rd in the equitation; and a 2nd in the under saddle.
Our Jumpers - Cassie, Abbey, Sahara, Maddy, Eden and Addy did what they do best and pinned in all events. Maddy + Clover won Reserve Champion in the .75m; and Addy + Bourbon nabbed Champion in .85m.
The mini prix is always a fun way to cap off a busy day and all Redwood competitors came home with a sash.
Congratulations to all competitors and thank you as always to the coaches, parents and PHC team that make these shows so fun. And thanks to .photography for her always amazing shots (first three shots in our carousel). See you in September!!

Quick with the stories, late with the post. But we couldnāt let July slip into August without a shout-out to the big wins at this monthās OESD. Congratulations to Eden + Romeo for winning .75m Champion, and Sahara + Bea for winning .85m Champion.
The team also placed 2nd, 4th and 6th in the Mini Prix.

Leandro was one of our first horses here at RedwoodĀ
In his time here he has learned how to trail ride, baby sit riders first time riders, jump a 2'3/2'6 course (with auto lead changes) , jump cross country and become the fan favorite that he is!!Ā
With the guidance of coaches & trainers Sophia and Abdulla- Charleigh helped to turn Leo, like the lion in Wizard of Oz to find his heart and his courage.Ā This beautiful partnership helped the two of them grow and set them both up for future success ā¤ļøĀ
While we are sad to watch him leave we are so happy to watch him go into the loving care of Brandon and Carmelina

The Redwood Show Team had their second off-property show over the weekend and crushed it! Pinned in all the classes we were in (Hunter and Jumper) and ended the day with two Reserve Champions, three high-point champions (to date), and three places in the mini-prix. But the rider that made us the most proud was Saina who showed us all the meaning of courage, strength and sportsmanship. Thanks to everyone for a great day and for organizing another amazing show.

School is (almost) out for summer and weāre kicking off the best months of the year with our second in-house show on Sunday, June 30. Show is open to all Redwood students and offers 6 classes so you can compete at the best level for you and your goals.

Throwing back to last weekend and our first off-property show of the season at the OESD series at . The Redwood Show Team had an amazing outing winning either Champion or Reserve Champion in all of our events.
Thanks to PHC for hosting an amazing show and our coaches for calming our nerves, participating in dance-party warm-ups, and teaching us the skills and graces to compete.

A few of our crew came together a couple of weeks ago to celebrate one of our ownā¦ and we almost didnāt recognize each other. Gone were the pony tails and muddy breeches in favour of strappy heels and glittery gowns.

On Sunday Redwood Stables hosted its first in-house schooling show for our riders. The day was rainy but we persevered and earned experience in how to compete in conditions that are wet and mucky. Despite the rain it was a fun day with our community, enjoying delicious food from our potluck, and cheering on our riders.
Congratulations to all our riders and a special shout-out to our .65m class who competed in the worst of the rain and mud.
Sunday was also an opportunity to confirm our show team for the summer season for off-property shows. If you werenāt able to attend on Sunday, but would like to tryout for the team, please speak to your coach.
Redwood Stables is thrilled to announce the first in-house show of the season on Sunday, April 28!
Open to all Redwood students, this show will offer 5 divisions so everyone can feel comfortable competing at the level that is right for them. The show will start at 10am with the Flat Division and end around 4pm with the .85 Jumper Division. An email to register has been sent to all riders. Speak to your coach about competing and register today. We hope to see everyone there!

Introducing the newest member of the barn team at Redwood Stables. Bear is an 11-month old Great Pyrenees cross who has come to our stable in search of a fulfilling and rewarding job. His breed likes to work and have a purpose so he is now in charge of wildlife management - specifically keeping our herd safe from coyotes and other night marauders.
Bear is the sweetest little man and has fit in perfectly with our horses, cats and his canine partners Thor and Willow. But donāt let his marshmallow personality fool you. When heās out on patrol heās about keeping his barn family safe. Coyotes youāve been warned.

We have one pup left from Ophelia and Thorās litter. This little girl is 8 weeks old and ready for her forever home. She is a Dutch Sheppard x Lab mix and is black with pops of white.

Itās been a minute since we last introduced members of our herd. Meet Maple who came to us late last summer and has been waiting patiently for a proper introduction. Apologies Maple.
Maple is a 7-year-old Dutch Warmblood, and she has a secret. Sheās pregnant and will have her little one in April. For now she is hanging with her friends in the paddock and going out for regular lunges to stay fit.
Once sheās had her foal and is ready to go back to work, she will enter our training program with the goal of joining our school.
But for now she just gets to chill and do what all expectant moms should do ā eat, rest and enjoy her independence while she has it. Something every mom out there can relate to.
The puppies are ready for adoption! Two little ladies are still looking for their forever home.
Ophelia and Thorās puppies are ready to leave the nest and live with their new families. Six of the pups are spoken for, but there are two females still available. The pups were born October 14 and are a Dutch Sheppard and Labrador cross. $750. Please email [email protected] for more information.
Oh, how we will miss these two! and youāve both become such an important part of the Redwood family and it just wonāt be the same around the barn without you. Weāll miss you cheering us on at shows, tractor rides around the property, campfires, and of course the amazing projects and improvements you made to the stable to make it a welcoming place for people and horses alike. Redwood Stables held its first-annual Halloween in-School show yesterday which included a costume class.
The creativity was unbelievable and the judges had their work cut out for them.
Winners of the costumer class were:
1. Eva and Tinkerbell as Little Bo Peep on her sheep
2. Noah and Casper as a barista and her Frappuccino
3. Lily and Atlas as a race car driver
4. Madison and Lola as Fairies
5. Eden and Romeo as Barbie and Ken
6. Sahara and Bea as Cruella Da Ville and puppy
7. Sophie and Flash as Minions
8. Reidon and Titan as Ronald McDonald and fries

Itās spooky season and Redwood Stables is hosting its Halloween Horse Show on Sunday, October 29.
In addition to Trot Poles, Crossrails, and Jumper Divisions, there will be a special costume class where horse and rider are encouraged to come up with their best costume. A panel of judges will select best costumes and special ribbons will be awarded.
Please remember no costumes that pose a safety risk, and no masks that make it difficult to see. Helmets will be required when on your horse, even when in costume. So get creative!

Wishing all of you the best as we reflect on friends, family and all that we have to be thankful for. At the end of this week Redwood Stables will mark its one-year anniversary. So to say that we have a lot to be grateful for today is an understatement.
Throughout the week we will post highlights from our last year and all that has been achieved in creating Redwood. But today itās about giving thanks to the friends, family and community that have played such a big role in what Redwood has become. š
Teamwork makes the dream work. Morning hay delivery to the horse paddocks is made a bit easier with all hands and paws on deck.
We have a few new faces around the barn which we will introduce over the next few weeks. The first is this handsome devil who has joined the Redwood herd on long-term lease.
Peter Pan is a 8-year-old OTTB with a killer profile picture. Just look at this guy!! He should be on the cover of a romance novel.Ā
Like many of our OTTBs, Peter Pan has transitioned from race track to jumper ring like a pro and can do 1.10m without breaking a sweat. But with all of his brains and beauty, heās also a super nice guy with a puppy-dog personality. Peter Pan will enter our school/lesson program and work with our riders to achieve their goals.

Redwood is open later and extending its lesson times to include two new blocks for those wanting evening lessons.
You can now book lessons from 8 to 9pm Mon-Friday, and 6-7pm or 7-8pm on weekends.

We wonāt miss the early mornings (5:15am comes
pretty darn early) but we will miss the dance parties in the barn as we got ready for schooling, the cheese sandwiches under a tree as we cheered on our team mates, and the unwavering support that we showed each other as we all experienced the highs and lows of show jumping. This sport aināt easy; but if it was everyone would do it, right?

Today we celebrate Redwood Stablesā one year anniversary! One year ago today we welcomed our first two horses. Two quickly grew to 15 and were off to the racesā¦ or the jumping ring to be more accurate. We have had a wonderful year filled with memories on and off the horse. We have an award-winning show team, a strong development program for younger and beginner riders, property enhancements to make the barn a fun place to be and, most important, the best and most supportive community possible. Thank you to everyone who has made Redwood what it is today. The best is yet to come!
