**Upcoming Hours for Labour Day Long Weekend**

- We will be closing early on Wednesday August 28th at 6:00pm.
- We will be closed for Inventory on Friday August 30th
- We will be closed for Labour Day on Monday September 2nd

We ask that you please plan ahead for food and medication orders before the long weekend.

The day of our year end inventory, our doors will be locked and we will only be able to bring out items that have been pre-paid for prior to August 30th. We will not have a veterinarian in the building that day for appointments, consultations, or to approve any medication requests.

Meet Misty the kitten! She is visiting us today as one of our RVT’s, Sam, is a foster for the Edwards Animal Sanctuary. Misty always gets lots of love and cuddles from all of our staff and we love watching her play 💕

Do you travel to the US with your dog or have plans to? Starting August 1st, 2024, the CDC will be changing the requirements for dogs to enter the US in attempt to minimize the spread of rabies and cut down on the import of dogs from international puppy mills. Prior to these changes, only a health certificate and rabies vaccine certificate were required.

Please visit the CDC website and familiarize yourself with the new process and timeline, as there will be no grace period and your pet will be denied entry at the US border (land and air).

Canada is not on the list of high-risk rabies countries, but still has extensive new requirements. Scroll down to the section titled "Requirements for dogs that have been ONLY in countries that are dog rabies-free or low-risk during the 6 months before entry" for a checklist.

We also highly recommend working with the CFIA, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, to navigate the new changes. The CFIA is dedicated to safeguarding food, animals and plants, which enhances the health and well-being of Canada's people, environment an economy. This means the CFIA is well versed in the paperwork and requirements for travelling with your dog. https://inspection.canada.ca/en/travelling-pets-food-plants/travelling-pet
