Becky has been in BC for 6 months searching for a forever home... People have come to see her, messaged about her, commented on her pictures, offered to adopt her and nothing pans out...She even had a perfect home who was ready to take her but we had already confirmed another home... then that person backed out in the last moment- in the meantime, the other family got a new dog, leaving Becky with no options... Becky has had a string of bad luck, through no fault of her own, but really needs a safe place to land.

Becky's current foster is going on an extended vacation starting October 7th and we really need somewhere she can go.

Becky IS STILL WAITING FOR HER FAMILY 😔She is 1.5 years old, 34 lbs, Spayed, vaccinated, disease tested and is ready to meet you in the Port Moody area.
Becky has been in Canada for over 4 months, had multiple visits from potential adopters, lots of comments on her photos, and still no one wants her 🥺.

She is very timid and really needs a family to understand she takes time to feel safe. Once she does, she is an AMAZING dog.

She lived th first 8 months of her life tied to a roof in the hot sun in Mexico. Seldomnly getting food or water and rarely any human contact. 😔A kind neighbour finally had enough and stole her and her brother.

Because of her history, she has a hard time trusting people and so on her first meetings with new people, it takes all her courage to even take a treat from their hand…😞by visit 2, she’s able to approach and say hello and by visit 3, she is happy to see you♥️We know this will get better as she meets more people an integrates into Canadian life, but need a family to help her through. ♥️

She loves to play with her toys and snuggle in bed with her foster mom. She likes belly rubs and running around with her fur sister Georgia. She is good with other dogs, cats and older kids (has not had the chance to be around younger kids but we think she would be ok with proper introductions) 🧸

🐶 Becky’s ideal home will have: Another dog (maybe a cat too!), parents who are patient and have some dog experience, parents who are willing to put Becky into training to gain confidence, ideally in a quieter area and a peaceful place to go to the bathroom. 🏡

UPDATE- sweet Hazel has found her forever family ♥️🎉🥰

Hazel has been in Canada for over 3 months and has had ZERO applications. 💔
She is 18 lbs and approx 2-3 years old. Her favourite thing in the world is greeting people. She loves to say hi to anyone who passes her and everyone who meets her falls in love with her goofy personality. She is great with cats, kids and dogs. 🐶 🐱
Hazel was hit by a car and left to heal on her own… while she is fully healed, she walks with a wobble…But It doesn’t hold her back from running and playing! She loves to be active and get outside. She has great recall and knows her name well. She has an arsenal of toys and loves them all, playing with you or alone. She especially loves her deflated red ball 😂
Because of Hazel’s injury, she owes with her back legs off the ground, walking on her 2 front legs (yes, this gets a lot of attention!) She does the same with p**ping, but does need someone to hold her harness for stability. Also becuase of injury, her tail does not work well and can’t wag 🥺 She lets you know she’s happy or excited with full body wags and her big smile!😇 She also sit with her back legs straight out, which always gives people a good laugh!
You’ll know when hazel really loves you went she starts to take you socks or shoes into her bed… (underwear if she really really likes you!) 🧦
We are looking for a home with few or no stairs, no other dogs (she will be protective of her items with timid dogs inside the home, so depends on the resident dog- outside the home she loves all dogs) Other than this we think hazel will thrive in most environments with most families! 🧸 especially in a place where she gets lots of visitors!
You will never have a dull moment with big personality in a little body!!

Becky has been waiting to be noticed for 76 days….😞 She has zero applications. No one is asking about her. No one is visiting her. While we see other dogs getting adopted… Becky is still here, hoping someone will give her a chance.
Becky is a sensitive, sweet girl who loves her foster mom and her dog sister Georgia. ♥️ Becky is timid at first but warms up quickly and loves humans. She is good with other dogs, cats and has been around older kids. Becky is about a year and a half and 34 lbs.
Becky is good on leash, knows how to “drop it” or “leave it”, is potty trained, is good left alone with her sister and is medium energy. 😃
Her favourite thing is to cuddle up right next to her foster mom when she is sleeping (no personal space boundaries!) her foster mom has to push her to the bottom of the bed where she stays the whole night. 🥰
We think Becky would thrive in a home with another confident dog in a quieter neighbourhood. A human who is active and understands that she may need extra time to come out of her shell is a must! If you want to meet Becky, PLEASE reach out. We would love to hear from you ♥️

UPDATE- sweet Hazel has found her forever family ♥️🎉🥰

Hazel is looking for her forever home still!! 🐶 We can't believe it!

🥰Hazel is a very special little girl who had a tough start in life. We believe she was hit by a car and broke her back. While it is healed now, we believe it was never treated and left to mend itself which would have been extremely painful... Because of this, her back has healed with a hump and she has a wiggly walk. When she came to the rescue, she could barely walk...after a few months of rest and treatment, she started to move better. when we brought her to Canada, we thought she would need a low-energy home where she could rest but it turns out, this girl is FULL of energy and life!!! Hazel's Canadian story below ⬇️
🇨🇦Hazel has done some moving around since she arrived in Canada in early May which has given us a really good idea of what kind of home she needs to thrive! She is an absolutely beautiful soul and companion and has a few parameters- let us explain! 👂
Hazel arrived in Canada, spent a few days in a foster home and then went to what should have been her forever home...Unfortunately the place ended up not being pet-friendly and the landlord wouldn't budge.😞
Then she went to a new foster home and spent a few weeks there. She thrived playing at the dog park, we learned she has great recall, plays great with other dogs, loves greeting ALL humans and enjoys a good snuggly bed. 🥰
👩‍❤️‍👨Then Hazel met a wonderful couple and moved in with them and her dog-brother, Blitz, into a quiet BC town. Finally a real forever home! She was getting plenty of exercise (5-8km daily!) built up some muscle and we realized she LOVES walking (RUNNING even!) and generally being outside and active! 😎 She has been moving better than she ever has before, chasing squirrels just as fast as Blitz! There is amassage clinic in the house and Hazel loves to greet everyone that comes in the door with her little wiggly wag. HOWEVER, it turns out Hazel is very possessive of her things (her bowl,bed) around her brother inside the house...unfortunately her brother is very submissive and Hazel over powers him (even though she is a 1/3 his size!) Outside the home, Hazel is wonderful with her brother and all other dogs...We think she might do well with another more dominant dog, but think the best option might be to have her in a 1 dog home to start. She did live with 10 other doggos in Mexico, but we think she has tasted what it's like to have a home of her own, her own bed, her own bowl, her own toys... and now she does not understand that no one will take them away. 💕 The humans are DEVASTATED to give her up, but have to put Blitz first. We know Hazel is wonderful and will find her forever home!
SO, what does Hazel need in her forever home?🏡
-An active home that will give her lots of walks 🏃
-A home with minimal stairs (she cannot do a full flight, a few steps is doable- she does not love to picked up)🛕
-A home that does not require a lot of car rides (they make her anxious!)🚗
-No other doggos INSIDE the home (she LOVES dogs outside the home!!)🐶
-Somewhere she can get meet lots of humans!! She loves to greet!🥰
-Humans who understand that she CAN do everything a 'normal' dog can do, but she does need to be told when to stop (she will go and go and go and strain her little back!)🤓

Becky needs a forever or foster home by June 1 in the lower mainland 😓 🚨
Becky has been a Canadian for 2 weeks now and has been at a foster home, but now her foster dad is going away! 🏡
She is a cuddly gal who is under a year and a half old and 35 lbs. 🐶 Becky has tons of energy and would be great for someone who loves hiking or running. She absolutely loves the dog park and playing with the other pups. She loves her foster dad and cuddles with him when he’s on the couch. 💙
Becky is spayed, vaccinated, disease tested and potty trained at her foster dads. She is a very loving gal and really likes to be around people and dogs. We suspect she may do best in a home with another doggo and someone who keeps very active to burn some of that puppy energy. Right now she is working on her chewing habit and needs some help to faze that out. ♥️

Dandi is Adopter ♥️

Guess who’s in Port Moody and ready to meet potential families from the lower mainland/ Victoria?? Dandi! 🐶
This stud (who identifies as a mini black lab) is settled into his foster home and is now looking for his forever home. Could it be with you? ♥️
Dandi is great with the dogs AND cat at his foster. Good with the kids and all humans he’s met 🥰 He’s a loving boy who is gentle and loves to play.
He does not show food aggression or seperation anxiety. Potty training is going well and he has had minimal accidents. What he needs help with is walking! He is about nervous of the sites and sounds and needs help to feel more confident walking. 😻
We think Dandi would be great in almost any home, but think he would do best in one that isn’t in a super busy area so he can get used to doing his walks. 🏡 He is about 11 months, 32 lbs and male

Sad news for Hazel…
Her foster-to-adopt home turned out to not be so pet friendly. 😔 She needs a new home ASAP. 🚨 she is currently in East Vancouver- looking for a home in the lower mainland.
Hazel just arrived 5 days ago from Mexico and has already been moved twice and she is feeling the stress…we want to find somewhere she can decompress properly…
We are looking for fosters, foster-to-adopt, or forever homes with NO STAIRS that she would need to use to get in or out. She does not like to be picked up, so this is not an option. 😓
She loves to walk despite her disability! She almost skips down the side walk, not a care in the world trying to say hello to everyone.
This girl has some quirks (p*eing with her back legs in the air while walking and p**ping sitting down which can be messy) but what she lacks in bathroom etiquette, she makes up for in a sweet demeanour and adorable wiggle-walk. She is gentle and loves all humans. Likes other dogs (lived with 10 of them) and really just wants to chill with her human.

Hello world! We are 4 siblings pups looking for homes ♥️ Here’s our story…
Our mom was a street doggie. The locals knew her, and she wasn’t welcome… they kicked her and threw rocks at her 😔She wandered looking for a place to give birth and ended up in a yard. When the owner found us, he threw us in the street…thankfully another kinda neighbour saw and took us all in. She asked the rescue to vaccinate us and said she would find us homes. But when we went for out vaccination appointments, the neighbour never came back… 😞
Now we are in a foster home and hoping to find homes or fosters in Vancouver! We are all loving, cuddly pups who will likely be medium sized doggies (our mama is about 15kl) We want to get out Mexico before the heat embargo starts in May.

Meet Nico! A year and a half old, 40 pound, lean and lanky sweetie. 🐕

Nico was found on the ground at just a few days old… he fought hard for his life for the first couple of weeks but he made it! After a few months of being with a foster family in Mexico, we were able to confirm a Canadian foster and nico flew to YVR!

Nico was terrified of everyone one and everything- he had an incredibly difficult time in his first few weeks. Luckily he found the most amazing foster family who gave him all the patience and understanding in the world. They worked with him to help him adjust as best they could… but that was a year ago… now the foster family is going traveling and Nico needs a place to go…

He’s the sweetest bean once he builds trust with people- loves to play, snuggle and listen. He learns quickly and is full of personality.
That said, he needs to have oversight when meeting new people. He’s can be reactive off the hop and takes patience to work with in new situations - he’s fearful of many things! He’s good with other dogs, but needs to meet them with a muzzle on first.

This bean is leash trained, crate trained, eating kibble with a dash of tuna + pumpkin. He’s great with people and dogs once he gets over the hump of meeting them. Haven’t seen him introduced to children or other animals.

Although Nico has a high energy level, he also can nap all day long! He’s flexible with your schedule.

Nico is currently working with a dog walker to learn new leash skills and understand that the big world is not all scary!

He loves adventure and is an amazing hiking/camping/road tripping dude, all of which he has been able to do with his foster fam!

Nico is definitely looking for a counterpart who will respect his boundaries, advocate for his safety and show up as a compassionate leader. His ideal home would be a house, with a fenced in yard, in a quieter neighborhood.

Hi everyone… remember Agatha (now Honey)? The sweetest little bearded lady with a non-stop wagging tail and little smile?
She took the big trip from Chetumal to Vancouver a week and a half ago. She had a wonderful few days with her new mommy and then things took a turn…
Honey was being babysat by a friend (Honey’s mom Kadence was on a trip with her mom and left her with a trusted friend while she was away) The friend noticed Honey didn’t seem herself. She was extremely lethargic and didn’t want to open her eyes. She took her to a vet in Whistler, where they live. They did some testing and found her blood work was quite off (low palates, low blood cell counts), other than that everything was coming back normal. The vet was stumped and really couldn’t pin point what it was but knew she was not okay.
They were transferred to a specialist hospital in Vancouver for internal medicine the following day. Meanwhile, Kadence cut her trip short and few home to be with Honey.
This was 2 days ago and Honey has been at the doctors since and it is really really adding up. While she is getting stronger, they are still stumped on what is happening and further testing and time is required.
Honeys case is not the norm, but it does happen. Stress from travel and so much change can trigger underlying issues that may not show up in testing. Right now she is stable, but we need to get to the bottom of this. It could be a lot of things including cancer or an autoimmune disorder.
If you are able to contribute to Honeys care, anything helps. Even $5 will add up to get this deserving girl the care she needs. The timing of this didn’t give Kadence a chance to get pet insurance and we want to make sure Honey makes it through.

Sad news to share tonight…
Wambi is gone 😔
If you haven’t been following our stories, Wambi is a long time resident at the rescue. About 3 weeks ago, Madi found him almost fully paralyzed. Since then, we’ve been working with him daily to regain mobility and he was truly getting so much better.
Wambi showed daily improvements and made huge strides just days ago. We really thought he was going to fully recover.
We asked for donations in order to get him a brain scan and we were able to raise the full $500CAD. The vet was fairly certain it was a tumour (in which case there would not be a lot we could do…) but we wanted to know for sure to understand our options. Wambi was otherwise a healthy, happy pup who seemed to have a lot of life left!
Unfortunately waiting for the scan, Wambi took a turn for the worst. Madi was awoken by his screams and cries last night 😞 It appears he may have had another seizure (maybe from the tumour pushing on his brain…) and lost all movement completely, including his in his neck…
Madi was able to find something to give him for pain which allowed him to rest a bit while waiting for the vet but she could see in his eyes he was suffering 🥺 The vet came and felt almost certain now; It was a tumour. We made the incredibly difficult decision to let Wambi rest and he went to sleep at home on his new comfy bed surrounded by his friends and his mom, Madi. ❤️
Unfortunately, he never made it to his brain scan. If you donated to his scan and would like to be refunded, please send us a DM. Otherwise we will put this towards his vet bills and towards food for the other animals. 🙏🏼
Wambi loved dental chews and we will give everyone else a chew in his honour. Wambi was a special, patient and resilient boy. He will be missed by his roommates Chackie, Earie and Nico. We love you Wambi 🤍

UPDATE- sweet Hazel has found her forever family ♥️🎉🥰

Hello everyone I am Hazel- I think you can guess why this is my name… my beautiful p*epers!! 👀
I am a GORGEOUS small girl who just got some great news… but first, let me explain. 💜
I had a human once…she took me to the vet to be put down 😞 Thankfully the vet recognized that I was a healthy, happy girl and refused. He called the rescue and they came to save me ♥️
That was a few weeks ago- today I went back to the vet, for X-rays. You see, I walk a bit funny. I’ve got a wobble, and my balance is not great. This is why my previous human wanted to put me down. 😔 But today, the vet told me I am healthy and can fly to Canada!!! 🇨🇦
He thinks I had an untreated broken spine (which would have been extremely painful) likely due to being hit by a car. He says my spine healed and has left me with a bit of a hump and a wiggly walk. Because the breaks have healed, he does not think there is much we can do AND I’m not in pain. He thinks my best chance is to live my life to the fullest, as I am. And do you know what he said when my rescuers asked if there was anything they could do to help me? He said “she just needs love- this dog has been through a lot” 🥹
I can do anything a regular dog can do! 💪🏼 I let you know when I’m tired by laying down, then you know it’s time for a break. I love to walk (short walks) play with the other dogs (I get knocked over a lot- I get right back up!) and I love my rescuers (I even loved the vet and followed him to sit under his desk) I kindly greet all humans and dogs in public and at home. 🏠
I have a weird quirk where I stand on my 2 front legs to p*e and I p**p on my side 😂 This gives everyone quite a laugh, but I don’t mind- that’s me!
My ideal home will have no stairs or big steps (I have a very hard time with them and cannot jump up), have humans who are not super active (no hiking or running) Could have other dogs or not (but I would love to play with other pups if possible on play dates) and be understanding that I move slow. 🐶
I am a complete love sponge and deserve a home after all I have been through. Please consider me for you family 💜

A happy ending for Frankie ♥️
Frankie was adopted in summer 2023- 2 weeks later his new family didn’t want him 😔
He had a wonderful foster mom and was eventually adopted by Ursula and Ankoor. They saw how special he was and helped get him what he needed to succeed! ♥️
Frankie’s family has been so amazing about updating us and sending pics (our favvvvvourite kind of adopters!) We wanted share their latest message : “Quick Frankie update for you guys! He started going to daycare and it’s helped sooo much with seeing dogs on walks. We’ve also been implementing tips from the training sessions he had a couple months ago. He’s no longer scared to see dogs while on leash, he goes right up and respectfully sniffs 🥰 he also wears sweaters and enjoys carrying his toys around the apartment!”
We love you Frankie!!! 🐶 Thank you Ursula and Ankoor for rescuing our boy ♥️

I am a gorgeous brown and tan boy who weighs 31 pounds. I love to give kisses and be held. I’m affectionate and love to play with my brothers and the other dogs at the rescue. I’m good with all dogs, humans and cats so far! I’m just a pup so I have lots of energy and am the bravest of my 3 bothers. We think I will be a medium, maybe large doggy, but I am very tall and slender (not bulky) so I don’t weigh much! Hi, my name is Frijolitos which means "little beans". I was born in the jungle to street parents. My foster mom says my mom is feral & difficult to trap & fix, I'm a result of her constant pregnancies & I popped out of the jungle next to my mommy on one of my foster moms feeding routines. I was so happy to see her and she took me in right away.
I'm a super friendly doggie, and I love to welcome new doggies at the place where I live to let them feel relaxed. I love to run & play with all my fur family. I'm just a really happy chill kind of doggie.
