It's never to early to start introducing words to your dog.
Obi Wan is 11 weeks old and last week I introduced him to Paw and Touch. You can see in this video that he knows what Touch is already (touch nose to my open palm and then sit and wait for the treat). This little guy loves to learn.
Our approach is to just start using the words during interactions, but have no expectations for the puppy to know them or do as told. He gets a reward whether or not he fulfills the action, because we want him to associate that word with positive outcomes.
