Now that it's getting ✨frosty✨ we want to make sure that everyone know what to look out for if you're worried your pet is frostbitten!

If you suspect that they are, move your pet to a warm and dry area quickly and safely. NEVER put direct heat on the affected area, and do not rub/massage it! You CAN carefully warm the affected area with warm (not hot 🔥) water; You should be able to comfortably put your own hand in the water.

As always, we recommend calling your veterinarian if you ever suspect a frostbite! We are always here to help and to make sure everyone has a merry holiday 💛🎅🏻

If your pet is due for vaccines, parasite prevention, or you just want to make sure they are okay before the holidays - Make sure to book your appointments before this Friday! We will be closed for the holiday weekend and won't be back until December 26th. If you're not sure whether or not your pet needs to come in, give our amazing receptionists a call and they can help guide you! 🎄✨

We have another event happening! 🥳

One of our amazing staff members is donating their time to make hand drawn portraits for our clients with all contributions going towards Community Vet Outreach. These are just a few examples of portraits that they have done in the past!

We also think these would make great presents for birthdays or Christmas 👀..

In order to reduce wait times and to help our receptionists with their workload, we have set aside a donation bin out front for Community Veterinary Outreach! If you have a larger donation that will not fit in the box, please don't hesitate to let one of us know and we will bring it straight to the back of the clinic 🥰

We are so excited to announce our next event for our fundraising towards the Community Veterinary Outreach! For tomorrow and Saturday only, you can swing by OVVC and purchase up to 5 grooming vouchers per pet in your household 🤩. You can book the nail trims and/or a**l gland appointments as usual, and the vouchers can be used up until November 1st, 2025.

If you wish to make a donation without purchasing a voucher, just let our receptionists know! There is no $ limit or expiry date on your donations, we are happy to accept any - ALL proceeds will donated to the CVO.

*Clients that donate through us will not receive a tax receipt for their donations, but if you wish to receive one, we highly recommend donating directly through CVO. Our lovely receptionists can also help you with that!*

Surprise!! We are happy to finally announce that we are partnering with Community Veterinary Outreach 💛

We know we caused some scare with our vague post recently 👀 but we are so excited for this new partnership. A lot of our staff and veterinarians already volunteer for the organization, and now we want to invite our clients and the community to help us with this amazing cause!

Olympic Village Vet will become a “Drop Off Point” for any donation items for humans and/or animals for the winter, and further announcements will also be coming in the next few weeks. Keep your eyes open and you might be able to win some prizes 🙊..

Many people think that muzzles are only for "bad" dogs. We want to change that stigma here at Olympic Village Vet!

There are many great dogs who wear muzzles for various reasons and we hope this post will help. Keep in mind that this is just a small portion of information regarding Muzzle Training. Please reach out to us if you would like to know more 🐶!
