YUKI Update:
This sweet girl is scheduled to be spayed on Wednesday by Vancouver Animal Services. We are asking for two things from our Sam family:
1. Is there anyone in the area who would consider fostering her until she recovers, or foster her from the 14th to the 18th (we do have someone who can take her on the 18th to foster)? Can be you or someone you know who would be good to care for her and her needs.
2. If you would like to donate to her care, you can donate directly to VAS and note "Yuki", or you can donate directly to SAC and we will forward the funds directly to VAS.
Of course we are still seeking someone who would consider taking her into their home and lives on a more long term basis🙂.
Here is a note from Sammy folks that did visit Yuki on the weekend:
Hi Penny and Lisa,
We went and saw Yuki today. She may have some Sammy in her (mainly the back end and fur). Her face and ears are more white golden retriever than Sammy. She is very timid, would come out of the back kennel into the front caged area only when the VAC worker was there. She would not come out if we were there, although her tail was wagging. Does not seem to be a male/female issue, just stranger danger issue. We brought in Lumi Rae, and she came out for her with the VAC worker, and they sniffed each other through the fencing, very friendly no issues. Yuki will play with the other dogs, but the VAC worker has to carry her out to the grass area, as she won’t wear a collar or harness. She is probably a Far East import, no chip no tattoo, that was dumped in a back yard. She will probably do well with one on one training and love, as the VAC has 30 dogs right now, and 5 of them have behavior's issues like her, so they can’t give her what she needs. She plays with toys, and has no resource guarding them with the other dogs. Eating fine and is treat motivated. Hope this helps and that you can fine a nice home for her!
