The Dog Network

The Dog Network A website featuring a directory of dog-parks, hikes, businesses, events, blog posts and more! The Dog Network was inspired by my German Shepherd Avy.

We were always looking for new places that we could go adventuring with her - and found information on the internet was spotty at bet. So we created the Dog Network! Full of a directory of dog-friendly hikes, dog parks, dog beaches and swimming spots, dog-friendly patios, businesses and more!

I've seen several posts lately asking for recommendations for indestructible dog toys. We affectionally call Ember "destructo dog" because VERY few toys can survive her! I have found a few toys that even Ember can't destroyed so put them together in a blog post. If you have a destructo dog, check out our recommendations for the best indestructible dog toys.

Note: If your dog chews when left alone, it could be linked toseparation anxiety. check out our post on separation anxiety and some tips for overcoming it.

We have slowly but surely making some changes over at https://thedognetwork.ca/. Adding new blog posts and improving our park descriptions to help dog parents decide where to go.

We'd love to hear from you on what you'd like to see - more posts? product reviews? Dog-friendly travel guides to areas in BC? More dog-friendly events?

It's Amazon Prime Days today and they have some good deals on tog stuff! One of the best I have seen so far is for a Dog Life Jacket. I have been thinking of getting one for Ember and the Outward Hound brand is 53% off (link in comments).

A few other good deals we have found: Benebones (an Ember favourite - and MUCH better priced than in store - we have purchased these previously), cooling mats (perfect for this time of year) and Rollover.

Have you found any great prime day deals for dogs? Share with us in the comments! :D

Featured Park of the week: Nanaimo River Regional Park - off-leash trail. If you live in or around Nanaimo or even if you are just visiting, a walk at the Nanaimo River Regional Park is well worth the visit. The trail itself is fairly short - only about 1km (2km round trip). But the scenery is beautiful and your dog (and you too) can take a dip in the river to cool down.

Nanaimo River Regional Park dog Park is A dog-friendly river trail and swimming area in Nanaimo, BC, with forested trails, river access, parking, picnic spots, a toilet, and salmon-viewing opportunities. Dogs are permitted under RDN rules if kept under control, unless posted signage requires leashin...
