The Dog Network

The Dog Network A website featuring a directory of dog-parks, hikes, businesses, events, blog posts and more! The Dog Network was inspired by my German Shepherd Avy.

We were always looking for new places that we could go adventuring with her - and found information on the internet was spotty at bet. So we created the Dog Network! Full of a directory of dog-friendly hikes, dog parks, dog beaches and swimming spots, dog-friendly patios, businesses and more!

Sunday shoutout - sending a shout out to DOG ZEN dog walkers in North Vancouver. We had the pleasure of doing an event with Dog Zen last Christmas and watching their walkers interact with the doggos they walk was fantastic. Each and every dog was SO excited to see their walker and play with them.

If you are looking for a dog walker we highly recommend reaching out to them!

(Throwback picture of one of their walkers dressed as Santa for a photo event last Christmas).

Featured Park of the Week: Beachcomber off-leash park and beach

If you live on Vancouver Island or are planning to visit, we highly recommend checking out Beachcomber Beach in Nanoose Bay. It's been a few years since we visited with Avy, but I still remember how much fun she (and we!) had exploring the sandstone rocks, followed by a swim in the ocean. Well worth the visit if you are in the area.

Beachcomber Regional Park off-leash dog beach is A beautiful off-leash beach and park with sandstone rocks and two beach areas with lots of room for dogs to play or have a swim.

The meme of the sign I posted last week reminded me of another one of my favourite signs - at the Blackie Spit Dog Park at Crescent Beach, BC.

No smoking, No feeding the ducks but dogs on leash may p**p!

Featured Park of the Week:

Are you looking for somewhere new to explore with your dog (in the lower mainland)? Consider checking out Princess Park in North Vancouver. It's got a little bit of everything - an open field for dogs that like to run and plan, and wooded trails for those who prefer a trail walk. Worth the visit!

Princess Park off-leash Dog Park features an open field on the north side of Hastings Creek and off-leash trails which join the Lynn Valley LINK trail Network. The field is a short walk from the main parking lot - just walk past the playground and cross the bridge on your left.

Our usual events calendar is down for maintenance (we hope to have it restored or a new one soon!) So in the meantime we created an events page for dog-friendly events, fundraisers, activities, etc. around BC. It's not a huge list yet but I will be adding to it often!

If you know of a dog-friendly event coming up, please message us and let us know (or tell us about it in the comments) so we can add it to the list!

Find dog-friendly events across British Columbia, including markets, fundraisers, festivals, adoption events, photo days, retail specials, giveaways, and more.

If you're like me you may have a few extra reusable bags cluttering up the trunk of your car or your hall closet. If you do have some extra consider donating them to this excellent cause.

Our food bank is opening next week and we need tote bags to help people carry their food and supplies in. If you have extra bags in your car or under your sink we would love to take them off your hands.

Drop off at: 3550 Easting Hastings, Tuesdays - Thursdays!

Thank you
