We have revamped our daycare package structure to better align with the new post pandemic workforce model. With many clients working from home, some if not all the days of the week. Our current package quantity amounts were not reflecting this new normal.

Due to the recent wage increase at the start of the month, we have been forced to modestly increase our daycare rates effective July 2nd, 2024. Our rates still remain very competitive, especially considering many daycares do not offer walks or charge them as an additional fee.

Our goal is always to provide the safest & most loving home away from home for the best petite pups in all of Vancouver and these new structures will allow us to continue in this mission. 🐾💗

Justine has been working with dogs for the past 3 years meanwhile completing her BOA degree in Psychology. She completed the “Walks ‘N’ Wags” pet first aid and CPR course in August 2023. She strongly believes that when it comes to people’s pets, safety comes first. She highly values practicing positive reinforcement techniques when working with dogs and will always do what’s in the dog’s best interest, as that’s what she would expect from someone caring for her dogs. She aims to gain experience and knowledge through working at various pet care-related jobs to pursue a long-term career in pet care and animal wellness. ♡

In an effort to maintain a sanitary environment, save on costs of cleaning supplies and for team members to be able to work more efficiently we will be introducing diapers for dogs who may mark repeatedly throughout the day (yes, even after multiple walks!).

A reminder to all clients to please potty your pups before entering the daycare as we are not always able to walk your dogs right away!

Hey! I’m Ellen from Ireland 🇮🇪
I moved to Vancouver from Ireland a year ago and boarded dogs for the first couple months I was here. I realised how much I was missing my little family dogs back home so I sought out working full time with pups! I’ve lived with many breeds throughout my life from an Irish wolfhound to a Shih tzu.
Im so happy to be able to work at such an awesome daycare like Petite Paws!

Fur babies: Eamon (Shih Tzu, 16yo) Millie (Terrier mix, 6yo) both in Ireland.

It’s that time of year again 🤧It’s flu season not just for hoomans but for dogs too!

With the reported surge in respiratory infections in areas of US and Canada in addition to the seasonal rise in dog flu/kennel cough, we are urging clients to take precautions in keeping not only their own dog but other dogs in our care safe and healthy.

If your dog is experiencing ANY of the following symptoms, we kindly ask you to cancel their booking and keep them at home until symptoms subside or a vet has OK’d them to return to daycare.

*Our current policy on coughing is to keep your dog at home for 2 weeks from the last onset of symptoms*

⭐️Diarrhea or blood in stool
⭐️Vomiting
⭐️Coughing
⭐️Sneezing (yes, this includes reverse sneezing!)
⭐️Red, runny eyes
⭐️Sudden wart growths (especially in and around the mouth)
⭐️Lethargy

Bacteria and diseases spread quickly in multi-dog environments such as daycare and dog parks, so to prevent the spread of diseases like Kennel Cough, Giardia and puppy warts (Canine Papilloma Virus) please keep your dogs at home if they are not feeling well!

Many clients have vaccinations that will need to be updated with the new year rolling around. Please check your vaccine certificates for upcoming shots ahead of time and email any new cert BEFORE your dog comes in for their next visit. Dogs without updated certificates and/or experiencing symptoms listed above WILL be sent home.

Keeping that in mind, effective September 5th, 2023 we will be updating our rate structure. This is a result of unforeseen changes in overhead costs due in large part, to the welcome yet unanticipated changes in BC’s wage costs— in addition to rising operating costs due to inflation.

We made the changes as modest as possible and are still providing some of the lowest rates in downtown Vancouver.

Today marks the three year anniversary 🎉of Keegan taking over the reins of Petite Paws Playcare and oh what a journey it has been!!

First and foremost, I want to give a gigantic round of applause to our wonderful team fearlessly lead by Sara. They always ensure every dog in our charge is well cared for as if they were in their own homes. We are so gifted to have a team made up of the most passionate, kind and light hearted individuals you’ll ever meet. I will never be able to fully encapsulate in words the gratitude I feel everyday having the privilege of knowing each of them.

We also can’t forget to thank YOU!! Entrusting us with your furry best friends is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. We have not only loved getting to know each and everyone of your dogs, but you all as-well!! We’re blown away by the support you've shown us over the last three years.💖💖💖

While we have made every effort to avoid any price increases, unfortunately it has become ineluctable. Effective February 13th there will be a modest 5% increase to our service rates. New prices (tax inclusive) will be updated on our website this weekend.

To help ease this transition, any passes purchased between now and then will have the six month expiry extended to a full year. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to continue offering the highest standard of care to the best small dogs in Vancouver.
