📅 **National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day: August 22nd** 🐾

Cats are often seen as independent and self-sufficient creatures, but even the most aloof feline needs regular veterinary care to stay healthy and happy. That’s why **National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day**, celebrated every August 22, is so important! It’s the perfect reminder to schedule and prioritize your cat’s health check-ups and vaccinations.

**Why Regular Vet Visits Are Crucial**
Cats are experts at hiding signs of illness. Regular vet visits are essential to catch potential health issues early—before they become serious or even life-threatening. During these check-ups, your vet will:
- **Conduct Physical Examinations**: Assessing your cat’s overall health, including heart, lungs, and abdomen.
- **Update Vaccinations**: Ensuring your cat is protected against common diseases.
- **Perform Dental Check-ups**: Monitoring dental health to prevent more significant problems.
- **Provide Parasite Prevention**: Checking for fleas, ticks, or worms and providing treatments.

**Preparing for the Vet Visit**
Make your cat’s vet visit stress-free with these tips:
- **Get Your Cat Used to the Carrier**: Make the carrier a positive space with treats and toys.
- **Practice Short Trips**: Help your cat get accustomed to car rides.
- **Stay Calm**: Your cat can sense your stress, so keep a calm and reassuring tone.
- **Bring Relevant Information**: Have details on medications or health history ready.
- **Follow Up**: Adhere to your vet’s recommendations and track your cat’s health.

🌞 Hot Weather Alert! 🐾
As temperatures soar, it’s crucial to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable! Remember, if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. Here’s how you can protect your pet:
Pavement Paw Check:
Before heading out, place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it’s too hot to keep there for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet!
Tips for Keeping Cool:
Morning/Evening Walks: Opt for walks during cooler parts of the day.
Hydration: Always carry fresh water to keep your pet hydrated.
Shade: Ensure there are plenty of shady spots during outdoor time.
Cooling Mats: Consider a pet-safe cooling mat for extra relief.
Let’s keep our pets’ paws safe and their tails wagging! For more tips or if you have concerns about your pet in the heat, email or call us! 📞💙

🐾 Hello, human friends! 🐾
Did you know June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month? My name is Curly, and I want to share my story of adoption from a shelter to a loving home. Let me walk you through what it’s like for a cat to find a forever home, how we acclimate, and most importantly, how you can help reduce our stress during this transition.
My Life at the Shelter Life at the shelter wasn’t bad, but it could be a bit overwhelming. There were lots of other cats, different smells, and strange sounds. We got food, water, and care.
The Big Day: Adoption When my person came to the shelter and decided to adopt me, it was the start of a magical new chapter for both of us. I was a bit shy or scared at first as everything was new and different, but with my human’s patience and love, I soon felt at home.

Do you have room in your heart and home for these two special dogs?

On a scale from 1 to 10, how cute are these two? If your answer was 11, we totally agree. Andy and Lady are two senior best buds looking for a home together. We’re hoping their sweet faces can land them a home with an experienced guardian and without other animals or children. They might take some time to warm up, but once they do Andy loves to play with toys and explore, and Lady is a huge ham that gives the BEST cuddles. Learn more about them today!

How adorable is Atticus? 😻😻😻

Atticus is a very friendly, well-mannered guy who’s hoping and praying for a home to call his own. He can sometimes be wary of men and will run and hide if faced with any commotion. That being said, Atticus is a very social feline and he gives the best head butts when he wants attention. He likes to follow you around in case you need assistance with anything and is quite entertaining when the mood hits. His favorite thing to do? Tucking himself in beside you at night and purring lullabies until you fall asleep. If you are looking for a close friend to bond with, consider Atticus!

Monday’s tip to start your week on the right paw: Keep your distance! Raccoons are generally not dangerous to people, but they may become protective of a food source, and mother raccoons may become aggressive if they feel their babies are threatened.

There’s no doubt about it, kittens are cute, but too many cats and not enough homes is not! 🐱🐱🐱 Spaying or neutering prevents unwanted pregnancies and helps ensure that fewer kittens will grow up without a loving home.
