You may have heard about changing guidelines for bringing your canine companions across the border.. please see the attachment for more information on the new travel requirements coming into effect this August!

New Information For BC Veterinarians About Dogs Entering Or Returning To The United States:

Starting on August 1, 2024, dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet new, specific requirements depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. and where they received their rabies vaccines (if required). All dogs must be at least 6 months of age, have an implanted International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-compatible microchip, and appear healthy upon arrival, in addition to other mandatory documentation.

Dogs that do not meet all entry requirements or do not have accurate and valid forms will be denied entry to the United States and returned to the country of departure at the importer’s expense. These requirements apply to all dogs, including service dogs and dogs that were born in the United States.

Oni and his Mom say, "Thank you!" Thanks to your generosity and our amazing partners at West King Edward Animal Clinic, Oni's severe dental disease will be taken care of.

Dental disease causes significant pain and can also lead to other health issues, but the cost of dental surgery can be a barrier to care for low income pet guardians. Thanks to donors like you, we can reduce this barrier and increase access to veterinary care - keeping loved pets at home with the people who love them the most - and out of the shelters, which are so very very full!

When you donate to Paws for Hope, you are not only helping to keep people and their pets together, you are helping alleviate the burden of shelters and rescues.

A gentle reminder of our Heart to Paws donation campaign with ❤️🐾

Our donation bin is bursting at the seams and we are more than happy to see it!

Over the past 24 days we have collected a large array of new and used leashes, booties, blankets, sweaters and more! For this, the shelter pups and our team say thank you to all who have taken time to come donate.

There is still 5 days left donate so if you have any items you’d like to drop off we are open Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturdays from 9am-330pm.

For the month of November we will be teaming with to partake in their Heart to Paws donation campaign.

From now until November 30th we will be collecting both used and new pet accessories as part of the Merck Animal Health Heart to Paws campaign to help keep pets cozy and warm this winter. A gift from the heart!

Feel free to come by anytime on Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturdays from 9am-3:30pm to drop donations off!
