Puppy time is a professional animal care service located in Downtown Vancouver, BC and provides 1-on-1 individual care for animals in Vancouver and the Southwestern BC region. Services include (but not limited to):
-Dog walking and/or specific exercise for the animal (swimming, drills, hiking, walking, running, etc.)
-In-Home Doggie Daycare - hourly, half day, full day
-Dog sitting - hourly, overn
ight care, and longterm care
-Hotel Dogsitting - Hourly, half day, full day
-Drop-in visits for quick feeding, potty breaks, medication
Each quote is tailored to your animal(s) and their care needed. All pet and animal care is provided in clients' homes so the animals can be comfortable in their own space for the time their people are away. The last two weeks we have been sharing pet tips for taking care of your pets during cold weather.
This week's tip:
Take an annual preventive care exam (wellness exam).
Cold weather may worsen some medical conditions such as arthritis. Your pet should be examined by a vet at least once a year, and it’s an excellent time to get them checked out to make sure they are ready and as healthy as possible for cold weather.
Say hey to Teddy and Babs! Teddy is an energetic, almost 1 year old Cavapoo who loves to explore and meet everyone. You met Babs a few weeks ago. She is a very gentle and calm (most of the time unless she gets spooked by something) 2 year old C**nhound. We weren't sure how Babs would feel about Teddy's high energy but she acted like such a patient big sister and was very kind to him. And Teddy loved her, of course. 🐶💙
It's not always easy to pair dogs together for buddy or group walks. There are so many dogs that do not get along with others, have differing levels of energy, athleticism, and mobility.
However, if a dog can be in close proximity to another dog safely and comfortably, a buddy walk is a great way for them to make a friend.

With so many wonderful treats and meals over the holidays, please remember that your pet is probably not used to consuming all these various things and therefore can cause significant digestive trouble. 💩
Suggestion:
When giving them new treats, try giving them a very small amount one day and see how their digestive track processes it the next day. Eating too many new things or things that do not agree with their stomach can cause your pet to feel very unwell and can then result in you having to clean up lots of undesirable body fluids. 🤢
If you would like to get them gifts, opt for a toy they can play with, a new food or water bowl, or a new leash if they love going for walks. They will know they got something new and will feel so happy and grateful to be included in the celebration.
Try to stick to their normal diet as much as you possibly can. They will feel better, have more energy, and be happier over the holidays. 💙

When temperatures drop, it’s essential to adjust your pet’s daily routine so you can keep them happy, safe and comfortable. The next two weeks we will be sharing cold weather tips to keep your pet safe and comfortable through the winter.
Bathe your pet as LITTLE as possible during cold spells.
Sounds crazy, right? Ok, hear us out...
Washing too often can remove essential oils and increase the chance of developing dry, flaky skin. It’s not advisable to cut out baths altogether, not only for the obvious (smelly) reasons but also because some animals have allergies and require regular baths. So, if you must bathe them, ask your vet to recommend a moisturizing shampoo.

Each quote is tailored to your animal(s) and their care needed. We do have some veterinary experience and know warning signs/things to look out for incase of sickness or injury. We are comfortable coordinating with the animal’s veterinarian regarding special care.
All pet and animal care is provided in clients' homes so the animals can be comfortable in their own space for the time their people are away. We find this is extremely beneficial for animals that do not get along with other animals, have any sort of health conditions (mental or physical), or need more attention/care throughout their day.
