Paws of the North Rescue was founded in early 2020 by Holly & Trevor Marko (and their own Northern dogs) to support the First Nations communities of Northern Ontario. The communities Paws of the North assist are often remote and isolated - they typically do not have regular shipments of canine supplies and food, nor do they have access to veterinary care for their furry family members. These communities often face difficult decisions about the dogs of their community. Paws of the North’s rehoming program provides northern community members with reassurance that their beloved dogs will be placed in permanent and caring homes. Each dog welcomed into their care receives comprehensive veterinarian care and support in a suitable foster home, before they are placed with their fur-ever family!
