Hi everyone, it's Andy and Tracy here, Co-Founders of Woof Concept. We know our posts has always been about our community and our brand but today, we are dedicating this post to our beloved dog - Pedro

This past Monday, Tracy and myself were forced to make one of the hardest decisions that many dog owners dread, it was the inevitable time to say goodbye to our beloved dog – Pedro.

Many of you may not know who he is but many of you are wearing and following the brand he inspired and co-founded - Woof Concept. You can find traces of his photos here and there and you may wonder why he is rarely shown on our feed, this is because Pedro hated taking photos (and bicycles too). He will always bark at camera lenses and will growl at bikes so we avoided taking photos and riding bicycles around him altogether.

Pedro came into our lives in 2016. Nothing much was known about him prior to his arrival to Canada. The rescue organization that brought him over from Taiwan found him abandoned in a fishing harbor where he was believed to be struck or run over by a vehicle and left for dead.

Remarkably, he lived through the event and was brought into the shelter where he made a full recovery. Learning his story and without second thoughts, we signed the paperwork and adopted him. We picked him up from the Airport and little did we know, our lives changed for the better. Over the years, Pedro became an integral part of our lives and inspired us to build Woof Concept. Like most dogs, Pedro loves human companionship, belly rubs, treats and has remained incredibly loyal to the both of us. Pedro would even give up his food to be around us and always waited by the door to greet us coming home.

We have had many dogs throughout our lives and losing them is never easy – it’s extremely painful. Every time we lose a dog, they take a piece of our heart. Losing Pedro hurts more than we can ever express.

You will forever be missed and loved. Although you are no longer here with us, you will always have a piece of our heart and your legacy will continue to live on through the brand you have helped build from the ground up.

Our Story

Founded in 2016, Woof Concept started inside a small 150 square foot garage in Vancouver, British Columbia. The original idea to build this lifestyle pet product company was inspired by a rescue French Bulldog named Pedro. As dog owners, you want what’s best for your dogs and to Woof Concept's surprise, nothing in the market lived up to their expectation. It was the total lack of quality-built products combined with the boring designs in the market that drove Woof Concept to build their first collar prototype. The same reason fueled their curiosity to create a line of unique product designs that would accentuate both style and comfort by combining premium material with quality craftsmanship.

Today, Woof Concept has outgrown the 150 square foot garage with customers from every continent and a growing retail distribution network across Canada, United States, Chile, Singapore, South Korea and Australia. Their principle to maintain the highest production standards and ethical approach to sourcing the most premium graded material in the market is what sets them apart from their competitors.
