I have been riding horses since I was 4 years old. I started training and trimming my first horse when I was 8 and my career (my first training-for-money) when I was 12. I have ridden with a number of different trainers in a variety of disciplines. I believe in responsive, not reactive horses, and such is my goal in training. I believe that a relationship must be built on trust and respect, and th
at it must go both ways. I produce quiet, trustworthy horses, with patience and education. I make a point of continuing my own education through independent study of all aspects of horse care, including barefoot hoof care, proper bitting and dental, and horse anatomy - how a horse works, and why. I feel these are all important to reaching a horse's full potential, and having a happy horse in the meantime. And of course, I am always learning about the mind from the horses themselves. Students are often the best teachers, when the teachers can allow themselves to be taught. I am currently focusing on my hoof care practice, not so much booking outside horses for training. Perhaps you would be interested in a clinic to improve your communication (therefore, success!) with your own horse(s), or some lessons on yours or mine? How is the state of your horse's hoof health? Have a horse that needs to be trimmed but has never had their feet handled? Need some help with that horse you just bought, or do you want a professional opinion about a horse you are thinking of buying? Drop me a line, I like to help, I love fixing things, and I might just have something intelligent to say...
