Forever Home Sanctuary

Forever Home Sanctuary To establish a safe sanctuary for abandoned, abused, neglected, seniors, injured, and unwanted farm animals❤️

At the sanctuary, healing goes both ways. Our residents, many of whom have experienced their own traumas, offer a unique kind of comfort—one that touches your soul.

Did you know that horses can feel your heart from up to 4 feet away? Their incredible ability to sense emotions allows them to connect deeply with us. They can even adjust their heartbeat to yours, creating a calming rhythm that soothes and heals.

Spending time with our residents offers more than just peace—it’s a reminder of the resilience, compassion, and love we all carry within us.

We can't wait to welcome you back and let their presence help heal your heart, just as we strive to heal theirs ❤️❤️❤️

Chance came to us as a wild horse, embodying the spirit of freedom and independence. However, due to his need to rely on humans 100% for his care, he gradually accepted our presence and the comfort of human touch.

Earning his trust has also been a gradual process, one step at a time. We recently started introducing him to small, gentle interactions like brushing, which he’s beginning to accept with curiosity and calm.

His journey is a reminder of the resilience of these incredible animals and their capacity to adapt and trust, even after a life of independence. We’re so proud of the progress Chance has made and grateful to be a part of his healing journey.

Stay tuned for updates as Chance continues to grow and thrive here at the sanctuary!

Today we were blessed to witness another miracle at the sanctuary.

After over a month of waiting, hoping, and tirelessly working towards his recovery, Chance stood on his own today. A huge milestone for this sweet soul who has been through so much.

Ron and I stood there in absolute disbelief, tears running down our faces as we watched him find his strength. It felt like time stopped as we just looked at him, overwhelmed with gratitude and awe. This is why we do what we do—moments like this, where hope triumphs and healing begins.

Chance, you are a warrior, and we are so proud of you. Thank you to everyone who has supported his journey. Today is proof that love, care, and determination can truly move mountains.

Love...heals ❤️

Someone was playing peek a boo with me....

When Apollo arrived at the sanctuary with his momma, Asteria, he was just a few weeks old and completely terrified. They were rescued from a field where they had little food, no shelter, and had to walk miles just to find water. The field was filled with stallions that would kick and bite, asserting dominance or trying to get to the mares. We can only imagine the fear and hardship this little baby and his momma endured.

Here at Forever Home Sanctuary, we understand that healing takes time. It might take six months to a year—or even longer—to earn Apollo and Asteria’s trust, but we will be with them every step of the way. We never rush the healing process. Every resident here is given the space and time they need to feel safe and loved again.

Despite his rough start, Apollo's calm and gentle soul shines through his eyes. One day, he will be a part of our healing sessions, helping others find peace and solace. For now, we are focused on showing him and Asteria that they are finally safe, loved, and home.

Stay tuned as we share their journey toward trust and healing. Your support makes transformations like this possible! 💕

Goodbye, 2024 – what a magical year it has been for Forever Home Sanctuary! This year, we grew in ways we never imagined, creating moments of love, healing, and hope that we’ll carry with us forever.

We hosted our very first in-person fundraiser and women’s healing retreat, published our very first book, and after months of hard work and patience, we became a registered charity. These were dreams we held close to our hearts, and this year, they came true.

We teamed up with amazing groups, local organizations, and schools, offering healing to students, veterans, and first responders. We collaborated with local businesses, inspiring humans and healers ❤️

This year, we welcomed hundreds of visitors for guided tours and healing sessions, sharing the stories of our residents and the magic they bring. We hosted our first Vegan Long Table Dinner, bringing people together to celebrate compassion and community.

We were honored to receive the Non-Profit of the Year Award from the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, a moment that reminded us how far we’ve come and how much more we can do.

Love worked its miracles this year. We cared for horses in critical condition, one of whom wasn’t expected to survive and watched as love and care brought them back to life. We also said heartbreaking goodbyes to our beloved Feta, Misty, Moon, and Brownie. They’ll always be part of our story, their spirits guiding us forward.

None of this would have been possible without you. Your kindness, support, and belief in what we do are the magic that makes everything happen. You’ve been our light on the hard days and our reason to keep going.

As we step into 2025, we’re ready for more love, healing, and hope. We know the future is bright because we have you by our side. Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’ll make the coming year even more magical.

Happy New Year family ✨️💛✨️

With all our love,
Angie + Ron and the Forever Home Sanctuary Family

Donkey sandwich anyone???!!!

Our hearts were so full spending time with the rest of the residents and showering them with love. Chance’s rehabilitation has been our main focus lately, so it was wonderful to give our other residents some extra attention and spoiling yesterday!

When sweet Angel first came to the sanctuary, she was in such a sad state. Her tiny hooves were curling up, she was thin and weak, and her thick coat wouldn't shed in the summer, leaving her hot and uncomfortable. She had a hard time getting off the trailer and we will never forget the moment our farrier Sarah first saw her and kneeled down, gave her a hug, cried and told her "we got this"!

That's when the magic of love and care began to work. Sarah trimmed her hooves and got us into a trimming routine to make her feel more comfortable, we discovered she had Cushing's disease, and gave her the treatment she needed, we fed her delicious, noutricious hay, and most important of all, we surrounded her with love—SO much love.

Now, just look at that cheeky girl! She’s the sweetest, most precious Angel, a little miracle full of light and joy!

Love heals ❤️

Chance is growing stronger every day, so we decided to give him more space to explore and a glimpse of the new friends, eagerly waiting to welcome him.

While proper introductions will wait until Chance is fully recovered—hopefully by late spring—it’s heartwarming to see him realize he’s not alone. Just like humans, the comfort of companionship, friendship, and love make all the difference. ❤️

We blame it on the cold............

Just a happy little boy snoozing and snoring ❤️

When Chance first arrived at the sanctuary, he was so weak he could barely eat. Each meal was a daunting task, taking a little over an hour and leaving him completely drained, needing a nap right after!

In just 4 short weeks, he's made incredible strides. He's now strong enough to eat standing up and even sleeps standing most of the time!

Every small victory brings us closer to a full recovery. Let’s keep cheering him on! 💪❤️

Christmas feels a little different in our home this year. We didnt have time to put a tree up, therevare no holiday decorations decorations and no treats baking in the oven. Our home is a beautiful mess, with hay and shavings scattered as if the magic of the outdoors found its way in ❤️

But amidst the chaos, one thing shines brighter than ever: the immense love and gratitude in our hearts for each and every one of you. We are surrounded by miracles—big and small—and that’s the true spirit of this season.

If your Christmas looks or feels a little different this year, know that you are not alone. Sometimes the greatest magic is found in the unexpected, and it’s more than okay to embrace it just as it is ❤️

Today, we’re stepping into the spirit of giving, volunteering to serve a Christmas meal to those in our community who need it most at ❤️

May your hearts be filled with love, kindess, compassion and a little magic ✨️ Merry Christmas everyone ❤️

Anyone else in love with how Chances ears move back and forth when he drinks water??? 😍

12/24/2024

When Chance first arrived, he was so weak that he couldn't sit up or eat on his own. Every few hours, I would gently help him into a sitting position, holding him up while feeding him small meals. His care was so intense during that first week that I worked from home, staying by his side 24/7 to ensure he had everything he needed 💕

By the second week, I had to spend a few hours at the office each day, so I arranged my schedule to align with our incredible friend Tamara's. She stepped in selflessly, showing up every single day without fail. She would sit with Chance, petting him, loving him, and simply being there for him. It didn’t matter how cold it was outside or how much pain she was in—her dedication never wavered 💕

Tamara’s unwavering love and commitment were nothing short of miraculous. She became our lifeline during one of the toughest times, and we are endlessly grateful to the universe for sending her into our lives 💕

We love you with all our hearts Tamara 💕 Thank you for being you 💕
