Every animal has their own unique personality, and Miya has made it clear, she was meant to be a heavy equipment operator!

From the ATV to the bobcat and even the excavator, if it has an engine, Miya is on it. The moment Ron turns his back, she’s climbing into the driver’s seat, stealing keys, and even using her horns to “rearrange” some wiring. We’re starting to think she’s either trying to fix the machines or take them for a spin!

One thing’s for sure, if Miya ever figures out how to start them, we’re all in trouble 😂

Today, on Anti-Bullying Day, we celebrate kindness, inclusion, and the power of standing up for those who need our support. At Forever Home Sanctuary, we see the impact of compassion every day, especially through Marti, our little goat with a huge heart.

Born with defective joints, Marti could have been seen as "less than." But instead, she shows us that differences don’t define us, our kindness does. Despite her challenges, Marti spreads joy, resilience, and unconditional love to everyone she meets. She reminds us that no matter what obstacles we face, we can choose to lift others up.

Bullying has no place in a world where we embrace uniqueness and celebrate each other's strengths. Today and every day, let's be like Marti, spreading kindness, standing strong, and reminding others that they are valued just as they are 🌈

There’s nothing quite like watching horses bask in the sunshine, soaking up the warmth and enjoying the love they receive. They live so fully in the moment, reminding us to do the same.

Yesterday, I was having a rough day, and Jackpot sensed it. He gently placed his head on my shoulder, helping me ground myself, breathe, and reset. Horses have an incredible ability to regulate their heartbeat to match yours, naturally calming you down. It’s pure, unspoken magic.

No matter how busy life gets here at the sanctuary, we always make time for love.

Caring for our residents isn’t just about food, shelter, and safety, t’s about healing. Many of them have experienced neglect, abuse, and deep trauma. Just like humans, animals carry their past with them, and just like us, they need kindness, patience, and understanding to heal.

Love is one of the most important things we offer. A quiet moment, a gentle touch, a reassuring voice, it all matters. We see it in their eyes, in the way they begin to trust again, in the way they soften over time.

Love heals. And here, love is never in short supply. ❤️

Throwback to a moment of pure triumph....

There was a time when our incredible village came together every night at the sanctuary, lifting Chance, literally and figuratively. He couldn’t support himself, but we refused to let him fall.

Then came this night. The night Chance stood on his own for the first time. 10 whole minutes. For most, 10 minutes is nothing. For Chance, it was everything. A horse who once couldn’t even sit upright was now standing tall.

We will never forget his resilience. Or yours. Because it was your hands, your hearts, and your strong belief that made this moment possible ❤️

Forever grateful for the power of community, the strength of hope, and the unstoppable will of a soul determined to rise.

Last night was truly unforgettable! We had the honor of presenting a pitch about our sanctuary at 100+ Women Who Care - Vernon an incredible group of women dedicated to uplifting local charities. The energy in the room was electric, and we were beyond thrilled to tie for the win with ❤️

We couldn’t be happier to share this moment with such an amazing organization. In Girls Club embodies everything we believe in, empowerment, community, and heart. Winning was an incredible feeling, but what mattered most was the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring charities, each doing heartfelt, life-changing work.

We can’t wait to welcome the amazing young women of In Girls Club to our sanctuary, where they’ll experience the love and healing power of our animals. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

Some animals come into our lives and change everything. Apollo is one of those souls. He has brought so much joy, healing, and connection into our world, it’s hard to put into words just how much he means to us.

Watching Ron with Apollo is pure magic. I could sit for hours just watching them interact, completely lost in the beauty of their bond. Look at the happiness on Ron’s face….that’s the power of a horse’s love.

The connection between a horse and a human is something deep and unspoken. It’s built on trust, respect, and a shared understanding that transcends words. Apollo has given us that gift, and for that, we are forever grateful ❤️

Meet our sweet girls, Matty and Spinelli, two resilient souls who spent their past lives bringing new ones into the world. Matty, on the left, endured difficult births that nearly cost her life, while Spinelli, on the right, was a mother many times over. Their days of being used for breeding are behind them now, and in their new chapter, they have found something even more precious! Each other.

Look at the way they interact with one another. Who knows what they are saying? But one thing is clear, you can feel their love. A love built on shared experiences, unspoken understanding, and the peace of knowing they are finally safe.

At Forever Home Sanctuary, healing isn’t just for the animals; it’s for the humans too. We understand that healing looks different for everyone, which is why we create a space where the process is tailored to individual needs. Whether someone is seeking peace, emotional release, or simply a moment of connection, we offer a safe and nurturing environment to support that journey.

Many of the animals in our care have experienced trauma, and in their resilience, they develop a deep sense of empathy. They instinctively hold space for humans who need to heal their hearts, offering comfort in ways words often cannot. A few months ago, we welcomed Jackpot to the sanctuary—not as a permanent resident, but as a visitor. Jackpot isn’t just any horse; he’s been with his incredible owner since he was just a year old, and now, at 26, their bond is unbreakable ❤️ His loving owner is searching for the perfect home where they can be together, and in the meantime, she’s ensuring he has everything he needs, and then some. We don’t usually take in horses unless they are fully surrendered, but this was an exception we had to make. His owner is a true earth angel, and when we saw the love she had for him, we knew we had to help. Even though Jackpot has been through his own trauma, you’d never know it. He’s a friendly giant, one of those rare souls who seem to understand your heart without a word. There’s something magical about him, a quiet wisdom that makes you feel lighter just by being near him.
