Meet the Basenji! Originally from Central Africa, this breed was first used as a hunting companion, prized for their speed, intelligence, and stealth. In fact, their silence made them ideal for stalking game through dense forest without giving away their location.

But here’s where it gets interesting: Basenjis don’t bark. 🫢
�Their vocal cords are shaped differently from other dogs, so instead of barking, they produce a unique sound called a “baroo”a cross between a yodel, a howl.
