On National Truth and Reconciliation Day, we take the time to remember and honour the survivors of residential schools and those that never returned home.

The first federal residential school opened in 1831, with the last school only officially closing in 1996. The trauma endured for over 160 years and several generations is still affecting families and communities today, and we stand with them in support.

Today, we’re highlighting charities in Canada that are Indigenous- led or guided by Indigenous cultures, values, and voices. If you’re interested in supporting these Canadian causes or learning more, you can visit www.canadahelps.org/en/donate-to-indigenous-charities/
