Cats are nimble, flexible, and quick due to the 230 bones in their body! Despite having an additional 24 bones to that of humans, who only have 206, the skeleton of a cat is very similar to ours. Cats have 13 ribs while humans have 12, and both have clavicles, but unlike humans, they are unattached to other bones. Stay current with your cats' healthcare needs and schedule their appointment by calling 250-370-1950.

Symptoms of a restless dog include destructive behavior, excessive barking, weight gain, lethargy, and depression. Are you searching for more information about how to properly care for your dogs? We'd love to help with that! Call us at 250-370-1950 for all your care questions.

Did you know that there are scientific reasons why being a cat person can benefit your health? We say, me-WOW to that! The study even suggests that watching videos of other peopleā€™s cats can improve your mood and decrease your negative emotions. Being a cat parent can reduce your stress levels and lower your risk for cardiovascular disease. Even more amazing is that cat chirps have frequencies of 25-150 Hertz that help repair joint damage after an injury. Don't forget that part of taking proper care of your cat includes regular vet visits. Make an appointment with us today by contacting us at 250-370-1950.

Some worthwhile information about our feathered friends.ļæ¼

"Over the weekend, 33 hummingbirds were admitted to the Wildlife Rescue hospital due to injuries caused by the cold weather conditions. ā€œWe are seeing more hummingbirds coming in with damaged tongues than in previous years. Sometimes the damage is too severe for the bird to be able to survive in the wild, so we want to be diligent about prevention,ā€ says Jackie McQuillan, Support Centre Manager at Wildlife Rescue.

You are invited to interview Wildlife Rescue's Support Centre Manager Jackie McQuillan or Hospital Manager Kimberly Stephens this week to learn more about rehabilitation at Wildlife Rescue and what can be done to support wildlife during the winter."

Please avoid buying Lilies for your loved ones if they have a feline fur-baby šŸˆ

Friendly reminder: Motherā€™s Day is this Sunday, May 8. Another friendly reminder: many lilies commonly found in Motherā€™s Day bouquets can be extremely toxic to cats. Ingestion of any part of the plant (the flowers, leaves and pollen, and also water from the vase) can result in sudden kidney failure and death without emergency veterinary care.

Please protect our feline friends from lily poisoning by not bringing lilies into homes with cats, and by requesting lily-free floral arrangements. Cat owners can also familiarize themselves with the toxic species of lilies
