Located near Prospect Lake, Woofability is Victoria’s premier enrichment-based dog boarding and daycare facility that caters to the needs of both owners and dogs alike. We specialize in implementing education into playtime. By doing so, we crea

From a fully fenced yard with locking gates, to safety gates at all exterior doors in our home, we are committed to providing a safe atmosphere for your furry friend. On top of our enhanced safety protocols, all staff members are highly trained in dog safety & body language. In addition, they are also all certified in Pet First Aid, have been criminal record checked and are insured. Our in-home boarding facility is designed to make your dog feel like they never left home. In fact, your dog’s vacation may be better than yours! The Woofability team knows how important your pup is to your family. We do everything that we can to make our guests feel like they are at home by providing a relaxed yet fun environment. Please email us with your contact number and questions so that we can arrange to call you and discuss details of your pet’s individual needs. There are many excellent benefits of using platforms in training and as a enrichment activity! Here are 5 of the goals and purposes of this activity:

1️⃣ Used as a tool to train "stationing" which is a type of cue dog trainers use when asking a dog to sit or stand still in a specific spot
2️⃣ Gets dogs to focus on you and give you their attention, platforms help to associate them in to a "training mode"
3️⃣ Helps build core strength which aids the dog in their balance and stability, as well as their spatial awareness
4️⃣ Useful for teaching dogs to wait, and helps them from becoming frustrated because they understand they are waiting to train
5️⃣ A great physical and mental activity that requires their focus

We love working on a variety of different enrichment activities with the dogs in our daycare academy so that they can have a great and stimulating time with us! 🐾 🐶

Lick mats are an excellent enrichment activity for dogs! It's one we use at our enrichment academy! 🐶

Lick mats are a great way to keep a dog pre-occupied or entertained! They encourage dogs to lick, which releases endorphins in the dog's brain. These endorphins can help calm dogs in stressful situations. 🐾

At Woofability Enrichment Academy, we always want to ensure that our furry pals have the most comfort and safety that can be provided to them! Today, we’re going to cover some things you should know about Front Clip Harnesses. 🌟

🐾 Front clip dog harnesses are a popular choice among dog owners. Unlike traditional harnesses that clip on the back, front clip harnesses have the attachment point for the leash located on the dog's chest. This can help to reduce a dog’s pulling, prevent a dog from choking by relieving pressure that would normally be put on their neck, and to be used as a training aid to help reinforce positive walking behavior.

📏 Proper Fitting is Key: When finding a Front Clip Harness for your dog, it’s very important to get the correct size and fitting that your dog may require. Getting assistance from someone who regularly does fitting of these harnesses at your local store is a great way to ensure your dog gets the correct fit for their breed and body shape.

❗️We highly recommend not using any harnesses that clip to the front of your dog until 18 months of age. Front clip harnesses can affect the way bones and joints develop when used at an early stage in a dog's life.

Thank you for this amazing feedback and we couldn’t be happier for you and sadie! 💜💕”I just want to let you know how Sadie is doing after her boot camp , I mean Board and Train ;). I also want to send a huge thanks to everyone that contributed to her learning, and mine :) Sadie is transformed in so many ways. Her recall has improved to near perfection! We will continue to be consistent with this so it keeps getting stronger. Her barking is minimal, and when it occurs, she is very quickly and easily redirected with a “leave it” both in the yard and in the house. I was not sure how well she would generalize the learning to the indoors, but we are amazed by the change, and the quiet!! Her impulse control gets better every day. Today she was in my office, lying down but alert. I told her to stay, and I left the room, went to another part of the house, went to the kitchen to pick up a couple of treats, and back to the office. When she heard me get the treats out of the cupboard, she sat up but remained in place until I came all the way back to her. She got big treats for that. Finally, an unexpected improvement: overall, she is a much calmer dog in the house! She seems comforted to know that when people come and go or other things occur, she does not need to alert or protect us, she can just come to us and get a treat. She spends a lot more time calmly lying down and relaxing, not pacing around looking for things to fuss about. This is beyond expectations!”🐾💕#dogtraining #happydogs

Our Story

Welcome to Woofability! At Woofability, dogs can stay in a comfortable, Your dogs will be allowed to snooze on the couches, socialize in the choice of three purpose built yards, or lounge in front of the fire. Daily adventure hikes can be provided, with your permission, upon our nearly 20 acres of pristine wooded property. In the summer we have a pool, misters and a bubble machine and in the winter heated floors and fireplace to make sure your dog is comfortable no mater the weather. We accept all breeds, and all age ranges, although puppies must be four months of age or older. Seniors and special needs welcome! We are comfortable with administering medications as required. Rest assured that your dog’s safety is one of our highest priorities! We have a fully fenced yards with locking gates, and safety gates at all exterior doors in our home. We have three responsible adults offering a combined total of over 20 years of dog-related experience. We are certified in Pet First Aid, have been criminal record-checked and are insured. If you are unable to bring your own kennel, and they are accustomed to sleeping in one, we have several on site that can be provided for your pet. However, we strongly recommend providing a blanket or towel from home with a familiar scent on it for their comfort. Photos and video updates are provided to you via email, or texted to your mobile phone while you’re away so that you can see just how much your dog is enjoying their stay. Don’t have a car? Or just want to save time before you head out on your trip? We can provide transportation to and from your home for an additional fee. Please email us with your contact number and questions so that we can arrange to call you and discuss details of your pet’s individual needs.
