Sweet Onyx was a true neighbourhood friend and icon - well known and well loved by everyone who had the joy of meeting him.
He always had a big love for sweets, especially cheesecake, and on the day of his passing he was treated to a final indulgence before drifting into a peaceful sleep. A beautiful farewell for a soul who brought so much light and sweetness to his community.

“Opal came into our lives as a rescue, and though she started out as a foster, she quickly became family. She carried the scars of a past where she wasn’t treated as she deserved, yet her spirit remained unbroken. With her soulful eyes, silly attitude, and boundless capacity to love, she reminded us daily of the resilience and forgiveness that only dogs seem to know so well.
Opal fought a courageous battle with cancer, enduring two surgeries with grace and strength. Through it all, she never lost her love for the simple joys - stealing the entire couch, sharing popcorn, and snuggling close.
Though she had every reason to turn away from people, she chose instead to love unconditionally. Our mission was to give her the best life possible, and in return, she gave us more than we could ever give back.

Buddy will be remembered most sweetly for his joyful spirit and his unmistakable love of garden treasures - especially the crunch of fresh pea plants. Whether he was sneaking garden treasures, prancing proudly on a walk, or enjoying a well-earned nap after an adventure, Buddy lived with a happiness that touched everyone around him. ❤️🐾🌈

Buddy’s loving and adoring family shared the following in his memory:

“We said goodbye to our sweet Buddy last Monday. His happy self to the end, he crossed the rainbow bridge quietly and painlessly out in our garden surrounded by the comfort of his family, his favourite pea plants, and snuffing the remnants of his cheeseburger because he could never stand to let a single food molecule go to waste.

He enjoyed camping, picking carrots, peas and raspberries unassisted from the garden, and hanging out on the couch. He tolerated hiking but loved the nap in the car afterwards. He would chase a ball no more than three times before declaring himself done and leaving you to go retrieve it for him on the fourth throw. He had the best show pony prance I’ve ever seen on a four legged animal that was always heralded by someone happily yelling about it every time we left the house on a walk.

The loss is deep. Like all great dogs there was never going to be enough time with him, but it was the best time in the world.”

Sometimes, we even miss the physical weight of our pets — especially those big dogs who somehow believe they’re lap dogs. Gus was one of those souls. His presence in his home and in the life of his family wasn’t just big and beautiful; it was gentle, steady, and full of love.
Gus was a true gentle giant, a Boerboel whose quiet strength and soft heart made him the center of his family’s world. He offered protection without ever needing to prove it, comfort without being asked, and a love so deep it became the true heartbeat of their home.
Now, though his paws no longer rest beside theirs, the love Gus gave remains — vast and unshakable. His spirit continues to fill the spaces of their lives, reminding them that the biggest, strongest hearts are often the gentlest, and that some bonds are simply forever.❤️🐾🌈

“Our Gus was truly one of a kind soul, our big gentle giant with the softest heart. At 160 pounds, he still insisted on couch cuddles, sleeping in bed with us, and being in the middle of every hug. When our pets become more than family, they weave themselves into the very fabric of who we are. They arrive as a gift - pure, sacred, and unexplainable - and somehow, without effort, they shape our hearts, soften our edges, and fill spaces we didn’t even know were empty. They are not just companions; they are mirrors of our soul, reminders of love in its truest form.
Zuma was this kind of gift. The bond she shared with her mama went beyond words, beyond this world - an unshakable soul connection. Together, they created a rhythm, a language of love that only the two of them truly understood. Every moment was a celebration of that bond: a life built on mutual trust, deep presence, and a love so profound it will forever echo in her mama’s heart.

“Zuma was the love of my life. She brought me joy every day. We met when she was just 4 days old.
If I threw a stick into the bush she would come out with something totally different.
Zuma had to carry it all the way home and leave it in her special spot of all her collectables.
My heart is empty and broken into a million pieces. She was loved by many but mostly by me.
I will never forget as she was passing the hummingbird that landed beside us, and when her heart stopped beating the humming bird flew away.

“Jasper: You were the dog that almost wasn’t – surrendered at an early age, neglected, slated for termination. It’s no wonder you were so anxious and fearful when we met you. We literally drove through a tornado to rescue you, and that is actually an apt metaphor for all that was to come. You were the loudest dog with the biggest, scariest, big-boy voice, but you were also loving and loyal, with such a big heart. And you were so, so smart; you could chart a course, map a location, or triangulate a position with ease. There are so many more things we wanted to share with you, but at 14 1/2, you felt you’d done enough, and we agree; you deserve your rest.
