Today one of our pack members Rocky crossed the rainbow bridge….💔

Rocky brought so much love and fun to the pack and I! I’ll always remember him grabbing me a toy and bringing it to me at the door while wiggling his butt like a tornado! Followed by a ton of excitement to the truck and a whole lot of fun when we got to the trail.

My favourite game was saying “who’s a crazy boy” and him leaping into the air with joy haha 😂

Rocky, you were one of my very first pack members and I fell in love with you immediately! Your charisma and s***k made me laugh, smile, and p*e myself during our adventures over the last 3 years!

Rest easy Rocky Boy! You will not be forgotten ♥️

Today was one of those days! Had a p**p clean up in the truck followed by me cutting my finger open on the truck. But, we all have these kind of days and the pups made it better :)

We had a scary situation during our hike today…. As we were walking up the hill, a construction worker on site nearby our property fired a bear banger. We were obviously taken by surprise when we heard the loud explosive noise. The dogs initially got VERRYYYY scared and some even darted. Tbh, the noise really shocked me and I had a lot of adrenaline rushing through my body. It was like blasting where they give you signals so you can prepare before the explosion.

But, my instinct was to get the dogs on leash as quickly as possible while keeping an eye out for some of the dogs who were hiding in the bush.

I was very proud of the dogs today. Most of them ran back to me and stuck very close. Only a couple pups got really nervous. But fair enough!!! Once everyone was clipped on we waited about 5-10 minutes to calm down and I made sure all the pups were okay before continuing with the hike again.

Just a reminder that these things can happen unexpectedly and it’s important to come prepared with the proper gear and protocols to make sure everyone is safe :)

With all that being said, happy hump day and cuddle those fur babies tight tonight :)

Owning a dog is one of the most rewarding life experiences. However, when you own a high energy dog who loves to walk, run, play, and explore it takes a whole new level of commitment to be able to provide your new furry best friend with the attention and exercise they need! Especially if you are a busy working professional with a spouse who works out of town, if you have a family to take care of, or when you work evenings and double shifts. But all those things don't change your love for your dog and you still want to be able to give them everything they deserve!

For some people, the search for a dog walker begins when their dog begins acting out due to a frustration from a lack of exercise and for others, its simply because they want to give their dog more attention and exercise than what they are able to provide. Either way, we all love our pets and want them to live their best lives possible.

Hi! My name is Dedra, and I am the founder/owner of Dedra's Dogs. I am an outgoing, energetic, and carefree person who loves animals and the outdoors with all my heart. It was in early 2018 I had the idea to found Dedra's Dogs and to pursue my true passion. This was after having surgery to remove a cancerous mass from my thyroid. This experience opened my eyes to how fragile life is and the importance of pursuing your passions.

Fast forward to September 2018, I moved to Victoria where the dog culture is unbelievably welcoming and I met a community of people who see their dogs as a family just like I do. I believed there was an opportunity to build a company that helped owners take care of their dogs This gave me the nudge I need to launch Dedra's Dogs.

My vision was to create a company where busy dog owners would be able to give their pet the best care and exercise possible. My goal is to take away all the stress of owning a high energy dog. Owning one myself, I understand that it can be difficult to make enough time to give them the exercise and attention they need while still living your life and taking care of your family, job, and health.

You might be wondering, what makes my services Premium? Great question! To begin, I focus primarily on providing small pack walks/hikes and pet sitting services. I work with small groups of dogs (4 Max). This ensures each one get tons of attention, exercise, and love. This also allows me to cater to dogs individual needs while walking based on their personality. Plus, we can ensure the safety of every dog since they will have my full attention at all times. I use positive reinforcement with all natural treats and force free handling throughout the walks.

I believe it's the little things that make a difference and with all my services I wanted to go above and beyond. Whether it's adding an extra 15 minutes to a walk, making it more affordable for families with two dogs, or making the owners to do list a little bit shorter, I've created a variety of options for every dog owner including:

In-Home Pet Sitting & more!

Every walking/hiking and sitting service includes a free consultation with a complimentary goodie bag so you and your dog can meet me while I get to know your pooch. With every walk you also will get:

Pickup/Dropoff: With an owner notification via text.

GSP tracking: So you can see which trails we explored.

Photos: A picture or two of your dog so you can see the big smile on their face.

Water & Food Refill: Your dog will never be hungry or thirsty while you're away!

Organic Treats: We provide all natural, no preservative, no sugars, and no salts added treats from a local business, Sparky Snacks for being a good boy/girl!

Bath Services: If you have your dog walked 4-5 times per week, we will provide a weekly bath for free!
