Spay/Neuter clinics
Teams of volunteers from McKenzie Veterinary Services in Victoria B.C. participate in free spay/neuter clinics, held twice a year in the towns of Guayabitos and La Penita, Mexico. Working alongside PEACE Mexico’s M*A*S*H (Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital) veterinary team and local volunteers from Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue (JBAR), up to 200 dogs and cats are sterilized and man
y other sick or injured animals are treated by Canadian veterinarians and veterinary technicians at these free clinics. For many Mexicans, spaying or neutering their pets, treating skin diseases, parasites, has not been accessible or affordable. The difference this work of Mexi-Can Vet Project in partnership with JBAR and PEACE has made in the lives of animals and people in these communities is truly remarkable. The cruel and indiscriminant practice of using poison bait to control the overpopulation of dogs and cats is now much less common in this part of Mexico. How you can help
Mexi-Can Vet Project can provide additional funding, surgical and medical supplies and manpower, to not only sustain these clinics but also to increase the number of animals spayed or neutered and treated at each clinic and throughout the year. We welcome donations of money, surgical and medical supplies, collars and leashes, carriers and medical/surgical equipment. Adopt a Clinic
Another great possibility is for your group to adopt one of these spay/neuter clinics by donating the cost to run the entire clinic for $2000.
