THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MESSAGED AND EMAILED about these two seniors . We tried to reply to you all . Freddy & F***y have found a home together 🐾

Freddy and F***y, are 17-year-old dachshunds in need of a new home as their owner is in palliative care and unable to return home. The extended family is also unable to provide a home, and we are seeking someone willing to adopt or foster them.

They are currently located in Union Bay - Comox Valley area on Vancouver Island.

I have an almost 6-year-old male doxie and I am looking for recommendations from other doxie owners for daycares, walking services, etc. to help exercise him, socialize and get some fresh air during the days I am working at the office.

If you wouldn't mind posting a question asking that in the group, I would love to hear from other local doxie owners. Ideally, I'm looking for a service that would pick him up in James Bay, or that I can drop him off somewhere between James Bay and Sidney.

I hope everyone is staying cozy and warm! Just a reminder that we are meeting on Sunday December 29th 1:00pm at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre for our final meet-up of 2024. Hoping to attend but will be 38weeks + 3days. So, we will see how I'm feeling!?

My family, Tank included of course enjoyed the Sidney Sparkle parade this past Sunday. Wiens cuddled up in the wagon before scarfing down Callum's shortbread cookie...

Cam jokingly asked "why doesn't your meet-up group do this parade"...and it got me thinking. Maybe we should participate next year. I would love to see a sea of little wiener dogs all festive lookin'. The number of comments I got on wiens in the wagon alone! The collective 'Awhh' we would receive. Something to think about!

I’m looking for a pet sitter for my 2-month-old dachshund puppy, Teddy. I will pick him up at Christmas time. I will need a pet sitter 4 days a week (Tues-Fri) during work hours. Starting in January. Someone retired and living in the Cook St Village area would be preferable. I will definitely pay you. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in. Hello! I was wondering if you or anyone in the group had suggestions/recommendations for a vet for my little Archie (3.5-year-old long hair). We don’t yet have a vet as we’re newer to Van Island and we’re in the Victoria/Saanich area. I thought it might be better to seek out a vet clinic that others have had positive experiences with their doxxies!
Just looking for a general check-up, teeth cleaning and getting some vaccinations updated!

My we**ie has been struck with the IVDD. Would you mind asking the group if anyone has any advice or experience other than surgery? I’ve heard good results from acupuncture but I’m newish and would love some recommendations.
