A happy update on the rescue pup Winston, who came and spent an overnight with us a little while back before being transported to Rolling Bone Rescue.
Winston has found his forever home! So happy for this pup and the adventures that await him are going to be filled with love and happiness.

We had the handsome Boomer join us today for a trail run!! He did absolutely wonderful and we can’t wait to have him back!
We’ve had a few familiar faces join us this long weekend, and a new guest as well!!
Some of our pack members feature handsome Diesel, beautiful Murphy and gentleman Cooper! And our new guest is the ultra cute Zeus!! We just love the array of unique pups that come to stay with us. They truly are apart of the family.

Happy birthday to our very own Yankee!! He’s officially eight years old today, but man; you wouldn’t think so just by his personality alone.
He’s the mascot of Weenie’s Pet Playground and our go-to pup to introduce new dogs into the Weenie’s Pack. We love this boy and our family is certainly made better with him in it!
It’s “fail” photo day and today we’re featuring Winston the foster pup caught mid-sneeze, and our very own Yankee!
Update: It’s official! Winston will go to Rolling Bone Rescue tomorrow morning.

We have a very a special guest joining us at Weenie’s Pet Playground this week! This beautiful boy is Winston.
Those of you who are friends with Isabel on here may remember this boy from a post she made a few weeks ago. This brave boy survived a house fire! Unfortunately and heartbreakingly, his mom was unable to keep him where she was living and so Isabel was asked to assist in finding him a placement.
Luckily, Isabel’s networking and connections paid off and she got in contact with the amazing Liz from Rolling Bone Rescue who offered him a spot at her foster based rescue located in the GTA. Liz has secured Winston a foster placement and he’ll be going to the foster within the next couple days. While he’s here, Isabel will be paying for his board fee out of her own pocket. She offered him a safe place in our home, so his mom wouldn’t have to stress about her boy.
Winston will be placed in foster, and then once he’s ready; he’ll be available for adoption through Rolling Bone Rescue. Isabel was told he’s six years old, neutered, good with other dogs, cats and children and is an ultra loving, super soft, adorable pup. Here’s this past month’s “fails”. Can you guess correctly who each pup is?
It’s like looking in a fun house mirror!!
Quick, which one is Cooper? If your answer is the left pup, you’d be right! If your answer is the right pup, you’d also be right!
That‘s correct. For the first time in Weenie’s Pet Playground history, we have two pups with the same name and same breed that have joined us at the same time!!
You should see the look of confusion on both pups’ faces when we call for Cooper, and both of them respond! But aren’t these two just so stinking cute. Such sweet boys with amazing personalities!
Please excuse the state of our side porch. After years of harsh rains and cold winters, the wood finish has all, but rubbed off. Unfortunately when it rains now, the porch turns a bit green afterwards for a day or two. It’s not a health or safety concern; just looks quite ugly and is on our bucket list of items to get sorted.
Introducing Weenie’s Pet Playground’s first Dog Halloween Costume Contest, 2023 addition!! If this goes well, we will gladly make this a tradition.
That’s right! We’re having a contest, and the winner of this contest will win a beautiful storage basket filled with tons of goodies for your pup/s!! There’s treats, toys, a couple mentally stimulating toys and something special for the lucky pup’s/s’ mom or dad who wins!
Now here is how this works:
You will submit ONE(1) photo of your pup/s wearing their very own Halloween costume. If you have multiple pups, please try to get a photo of them all together wearing their costumes. If that’s not possible, then don’t fret. You can still submit all your pups individually if one single photo just isn’t doable.
Once every submission is in, each pup’s/s’ photo will be posted on a single post to this page.
From there, you will all vote on your first, second and third pup (remember, every pup will look amazing regardless!!). To vote, you must write your top three pups’ names in one single comment.
Then we put all three names in a bucket and draw one out. And that will be our winner!
Following are the rules of this contest:
- Absolutely no inappropriate or crude costumes. Only appropriate costumes will be allowed to be entered.
- If you’ve never used us as daycare or boarding, and still want to enter your pup/s, you’re in luck! This contest is for anyone with a dog, so be sure to tell your friends!
- The deadline date for submission is OCTOBER 25TH!! Voting will commence the following OCTOBER 26TH, and will be closed on OCTOBER 30TH.
- The final draw will be held on OCTOBER 31ST.
- To keep voting fair, please don’t vote for your own pup/s.
- Any and all harassment towards other pup parents and their pup/s will result in immediate disqualification from the contest. This is a light hearted, fun way for us to give back to our loyal extended family of pups and we won’t tolerate any negativity towards anyone.
And finally, remember that all your pups are winners, regardless of who takes this particular win! We can’t wait to see all your pups dressed up in their silliest, spookiest costumes!!

This absolutely adorable ball of fluff is Cooper!! He’s a brand new guest to Weenie’s and did AMAZING on his first trail run!
Did you know that we offer trail runs (days and overnights) for families who may be a little nervous about their pups spending their first night at boarding? Trail runs give your pup/s a feel of our home, and give us a feel of your pup/s! Since we operate as crate free/cage free, all dogs must be dog friendly; so we do recommend trail runs if possible to ensure your pup is a good fit for our home.
This is Gus, one of the newest guests to the Weenie’s pack! He definitely knows how to strike a pose. What a handsome fella he is!

We decided it best to make an official post stating what is, and is not, allowed/asked of here at Weenie's Pet Playground:
In regards to leashes, standard leashes are what we prefer. Retractable leashes are fine, but we ask that slip leashes no longer be used as those do not physically attach to a collar and can be easily slipped out of.
For collars, we only accept standard collars that clip/snap shut. Choke/prong collars are not acceptable as we remove those when dogs arrive. They are not supposed to be kept on a dog 24/7, and should only be used during training and walks, and since we remove them upon arrival; we must have another suitable collar available to put on the dog.
With drop off/pick up times, if you know you're going to be early or late, please let us know as soon as you can by calling our home number (905-701-1372). Texting/emailing is not recommended, as we're often away from the computer or our phones when getting ready for a pup to arrive or leave. It's vital that we know if you're going to be early or late, as we do not like drop offs/pick ups overlapping. It can be a bit hectic (especially with very excited pups ready to come and go), and we don't want to lose a dog.
Important Notice:
We have a wedding to attend September 10th. Due to this, we will not be booking any dogs in for drop offs or pick ups on that date. Please when requesting dates for your pups, be sure to make your drop off/pick up before or after September 10th. Thank you!

Last Tuesday the lovely Lady (black pup) and Hazel (brown pup) went home after their couple days stay at Weenie's Pet Playground! Here's a clip of the two of them having fun while they excitedly wait for their mom; with Lady having a blast on the couch and Hazel getting some last minute loving in before they leave. These two are semi-regulars at Weenie's Pet Playground and we hope to see them back real soon! Note: Please excuse the barking from the wonderful Goose (not a goose, the dog's name is Goose) in the background. When dog parents are dropping off or picking up their furry family members, we put any and all other dogs away in the kitchen/living area behind a closed door. Goose was not all that happy to be away from the crew, but this was only for a few minutes.
Yes, Ginger ran into the person (Isabel) recording as soon as the video ended. Yes, Ginger running full force into Isabel hurt. Ginger is such a lively ball of fluff and fun! We love when she comes to Weenie's Pet Playground for a visit!
