Long weekend getting closer like…
Myrtle has some tips to ensure your pet stays calm and secure during the Canada Day festivities:
1. Create a quiet, comfortable area for your pet to retreat to. See our ‘heat wave safety tips’ post for hot weather tips!
2. Use background noise like TV or radio to help drown out fireworks.
3. Keep pets indoors during fireworks to prevent them from running away.
4. Provide toys or treats to keep them occupied.
5. Make sure your pet’s ID tags/ microchip information is up to date.
6. Use calming wraps (ie ‘thunder-shirt’) or provide a favorite blanket or toy.
7. Consult us about possible medications for severe anxiety.
The clinic will be closed the following:
Sat. June 29 to Mon. July 1.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Canada Day! The Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Barrie is available 24/7 for any after hours emergencies:
