Exposing your cat to canned food early in life is important as it is an essential part of their diet.

If a cat has any predisposition at all, just a few days of not eating can cause a potentially fatal condition called hepatic lipidosis. If you feline friend refuses to eat his or her food don’t wait to seek help.

A Little Brown from has tested positive for after the creature was submitted for testing on Wednesday, July 24, as part of an investigation into a potential human exposure.

The person involved is receiving post-exposure treatment, which will prevent a rabies infection.

This animal rabies case is the first in Grey Bruce this year. We're advising the public to remain vigilant about the risk of rabies:

✅ Always refrain from touching, petting, or handling
✅ Avoid approaching or feeding wild animals.
✅ Keep pets away from wild animals and do not let roam unsupervised; and have your pets vaccinated for rabies
✅ Wildlife-proof homes, , and yards.
✅ Do not disturb baby animals.
✅ Warn children to stay away from wild or stray animals.
✅ Do not trap and transport wild animals to a new location.

This warmer weather is a signal for the ticks to become active.

Bears are avid climbers. They use a technique called “bear-hugging,” where they wrap their front legs around the trunk and push up with their powerful hind legs. We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend and please give all your sweet pets a big bear-hug.

Hugs all around as the weekend comes to a close.

Cats start their jump in a deep crouch then lift their front legs and follow with an explosive extension of their back legs. Hank shows us how easy it is. To keep them off unwanted areas try to create an alternative. A tall scratching post with multiple levels gives your cat a place to jump, exercise, and explore. Keep it interesting for them by rotating the toys, places to hide in and even crumpled pieces of paper to bat around.

The border collie breed has excellent problem solving abilities. Charlie knows our reception is on the other side of that window. He plans to make sure she sees him.

Some things are just better in slow motion.
