📣🇲🇽 Quick Reminder about February away dates from our chihuahua friends Bisou & Roo 🇲🇽📣

I will be away and joining ’s volunteer trip to Mexico from Friday February 23rd through to Thursday February 29th. All walks will be cancelled during this time and resume as normal on Friday March 1st.

💭Thoughts from Wednesday Walks 💭

Our own energy and body language is often way over looked in the dog training world, yet it is common knowledge and widely accepted in the horse training world. 🐕🐎

Each successful, smooth, peaceful pack or training walk I have, starts with me mindfully checking in and trying my absolute best to bring *calmness & confidence* to the dogs. Any off days I have had, the dogs are quick to humble me and very clearly show me that. Whether we are working through anxiety, reactivity, over-excitement, fearfulness, the rebellious teenage puppy phase - time & time again the dogs show me when my energy is spot on…and when it is lacking.

Here’s the thing though, having confidence with handling our dogs, in part comes from knowing exactly how to work with them, which includes a variety of tools & strategies that we know will help in potentially challenging moments. I have seen huge changes in the confidence of the humans I get to work with, that seek support from professionals (whether that be little chats shared after walks or even better - formal sessions with a trainer, such as ).

So remember to breathe that fresh air in deeply, relax your shoulders back, and look ahead to take in the scenery on your walks 🧘‍♀️🌲🌍

PS - this is definitely taught and understood by the dog psychology / relationship based trainers that I have learnt from ( , ). Just often missed in obedience type training, puppy classes etc.

Starting the New Year off strong with these sweet faces on some smooth & peaceful pack walks! 🥰🥂

I was trying to add it up and I walked around 30+ different dogs this past year, not accounting for dogs walked with 😮 I can only imagine how many steps we got in! Thank you so much for all of your support in 2023 and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings us!

🎄Holiday Closure Notice 🎄

Just wanted to provide a quick reminder in case anyone missed the email notice that was sent out a few weeks ago. Walks will be cancelled for the holiday season from Monday December 25th through to Monday January 1st. All walks will resume as normal on Tuesday January 2nd.

I will miss seeing everyone for their walkies during this time, but I am also looking forward to spending time with family over the holidays! 😊

A warm welcome to ✨Ace✨ to the Calm Canine crew!

Ace is a handsome, big boy in the height of the testy teenage phase of puppyhood 🦈

His parents are incredibly dedicated with his training and have been putting in so much great work with right from the start. Thank you to for also setting us up for a successful first walk - calm, patient energy and consistent communication went a long way through all the puppy antics! So glad to have Mr. Ace apart of the crew 🥰

An official welcome to ✨Lyla✨ to the Calm Canine crew!

Lyla has walked with us occasionally and will now be joining us for daily 1:1 walks for the next couple of weeks! During our time together, we will be working on teaching Lyla a communication system.

Once we have a good foundation in place, we will then be tackling working around some of Lyla’s triggers (squirrels, skateboards, and occasionally, dogs).

Welcome ✨Fig✨ to the Calm Canine crew!

Fig is such a sweet, chill guy and already showed me some fantastic leash and follow skills on our first walk together. Fig can also be dog reactive, but his humans have been dedicated to lots of training work since they adopted him. Our walks will be all about maintaining consistency in that training and supporting the process 🤍

Once we build our trust & communication through 1:1 walks (and as he continues his structured socialization practise & training with his humans!), we may be on the lookout for a buddy for him down the road! 👀

Can’t wait to walk & work more with Fig 🥰

Ending another great week of walking with a whole lot of gratitude to be learning & growing with each and every one of our crew, while also connecting with some dedicated owners along the way too! I have been able to witness some incredible transformations in both human and dog since starting Calm Canine Co., and it motivates the work I do! Please never hesitate to share your wins, challenges, or questions with me - I love hearing it all. 🥰

Welcome ✨Miya ✨ to the Calm Canine Crew!

Miya is a tiny dog with some big feelings about leaving her home & humans (and the girl’s got lungs to let the world know about it!). We’ve so far been able to successfully work through this initial reaction, and are already seeing some tiny steps in progress in her leash skills & willingness to work with me while out on walks. So glad to have you Miya! ☺️

📣 Just a reminder to our Thursday, Friday, & Monday crew that I will be away and walks will be cancelled from Thursday October 12th through to Monday October 16th. All walks will resume as normal on Tuesday October 17th.
