Every once in a while we get a question about an owners dog not wanting to eat the TLC dog food after loving it before. It often is a dog that has finished or almost finished growing. In speaking to the owner about the dogs body condition/energy level we find that it's metabolism has slowed down and does not need as much food it has before since the growing is done. Sometimes it can also be warm weather-a dog just isn't hungry. Every dog is an individual and may need more or often less to properly maintain its body condition. So do not be afraid to cut back the amount of food if the body condition is good until you find a good maintenance level the dog needs. From season to season and throughout the dogs life the amount of food that the dog needs can vary. Changing from brand to brand might entice the dog to eat but it may be getting more than it needs causing weight gain. Watch the amount of treats you are feeding to your dog as well!
